Please, keep in mind that Mexican writing was primarily a combination of Semasiograms and glottograms; the depiction of Quetzalcoatl does not depict a reality as you see it, but it depicts a form of writing. Quetzalcoatl in the Nahuatl conception translated as "Sacred Twin", with the "twin" part being untranslatable in meaning to the English language. Here, the word twin assumes a level of brotherhood, as if to say, "we are from the same Father and Mother".
We still await Quetzalcoatl's advent.

i'm sure many socieities that never had any contact with each other were bored enough to sit and make up stories that are all basically the same just with some with different views on who was good and who was bad by chance. the entities also looked basically the same and did the same things. the aztecs probably called the jews and other ppls miles away and they came up with the stuff. think outside the box. there is more beyond the physical world

lets get the facts right.
1. Quetzalcoatl is not taught in mormon doctrine.
2. The symbol of the serpant to the Myans and Aztecs was a symbol of wisdon and not evil.
3. Some historians say he was worshiped 200 BC and others 200 AD. You can see for yourself. just google it.
4. Whoever made this video is most likely an inactive memebr of the LDS/ mormon faith and needs to go back to church.

I was never a mormon. I understand this video could have done with a bit more research. I never said all mormons believe this just some. I never said that Quetz was evil but that serpents seem to be evil in most western cultures primarily for religious reasons.

actualy some mormons beleive that the aztecs were decendents of saints (those of Christs Church, LDS, Mormons if you will), but that they apostisized (regected the true gospel), but still had some cristian/pagan theology, and Jesus was born 2000 years ago, but the saints knew about him since adam and eve. Including those in the Americas

Then pontificate on the snake that ate the snakes in Pharoah's court.

LDS views on history would make a serpent on a rod an element that would easily be seen as emergent in a vast number of traditions. Look at the wikipedia article you took that from and try and realize that many many cultures (INCLUDING JUDEO-CHRISTIAN) saw symbolism in snakes that was tied to healing and NOT inherently demonic forces.
So regardless of the percieved origin of the present staff with the snake your point still stands refuted.
Snakes are not inherent symbols of evil or deception.

Well most christians I have spoken too have told me that the serpent is an inherent symbol of evil and the devil. One even went so far as to tell me all reptiles are evil. And yes I did take that from a wikipedia article but only coz I couldn't remember the name of the rod.

A snake is not a symbol of the devil. The devil was a serpent in Genesis and lied to Eve. That does not mean that all serpents are demonic, thats a rediculous claim.
