@MsJx56 this thing came way before the kinect develop the kinect is built as an improved version of the ps2's eyetoy that came out back in 2004 the ps3's PSeye works better with the move controller it can also track the location of your daulshock3 or sixaxis controller on screen where you can use it with the move it's still do what the kinect dose like the motion capturing look at kids games like eyepet.

Yeah, but Xbox 360 came out with an EyeToy knock-off and now they've already replaced it on the same system! At least the Eye will be used with their new motion controllers instead of having to buy a brand new camera like with Natal.

nope sorry. you can record video of only yourself, not of games. you can then export it to a memory card to show videos of your self on your pc, then from your pc upload it to youtube.

The low resolution is because it's meant for small file size, and because it's not meant for full screen. It's more of a video chat tool.

You can, but it's dodgy. For a start, it means that other people's voices will come through the TV, and can easily be drowned out by the game sound effects. Secondly, you will find that noise from your own TV is fed back into the PS eye mic, and it annoys other players.

You're much better getting the official Playstation headset. I've got one, they're very good.

Ok so in this vid you say the red light shows the camera is in use but I noticed on some of your other review like your Trials of Topoq review your red light isn't on. I have noticed that some programs activate the red light and some don't. I have noticed this on my camera and I want to know what the red light actually means So far the red light only comes on for eye create or if I am in system settings, every other game doesn't activate the red light. Anyone else notice this?

I've become convinced that the red light only comes on when your are in the settings section or if you are in a low light setting. I found that if my red light was on during a game if I turned on a bunch of lights, hit start and clicked check camera the red light would turn off and come back on if I turned the lights back off. It's odd that I can't find anything official on that but that is my conclusion.

i believe the microphone spacing is so it knows exactly how far to zoom in for certain games.

and btw, sound wouldn't reach the other microphone a millisecond later. assuming the microphones are each about 1 cm apart, concerning how voice travels, it would be about 1/34 of a millisecond. and that's assuming the microphones are placed so that they run back and forth as opposed to widthwise as the eye is setup normally. i know you probably weren't trying to be precise, but whatever :P
