i really love to watch your responses to zeplin`s videos... living only with japanese in japan for very long time, i really miss person with objective opinions, having both, japanese and western point of view. your videos are very refreshing. respect!
@ImIwilliamImI I'm not sure if they're more open in the west of Japan, but in general they tend to be more extroverted and laid-back (this is a generalization). They are still Japanese though.
@ImIwilliamImI Oh sorry about that. No problem! I think it's the same amount that Japanese are to Westerners. They may be more welcoming and friendly though. I know some Japanese people when they go live in another country that they open up and come out of themselves, if you know what I mean. But then moving back to Japan is always difficult for them.
Sorry I do not feel depress. I may not like the circumstances behind the reason why I can not do certain things, but not I don't feel depression. Do not understand what you when you mention New York. Have a nice day.

Zeplin is a typical GAIJIN CLOWNS living in my country who likes to play victims game when in fact it's their own fault for not learning the Japanaese language, customs, cultures. He is manipulative in regards to my country........ Also, he is from tiny little Denmark. He can't compare and contrast his native countries vs. Japan.
To be fair, I worked my ass off to learn English so I can make friends and communicate with "native" speakers when I lived in the States.
@novajoke Yes, I can see that. This video's a year old and was my first reaction to his earlier videos. His videos eventually just got the same and always negative so I stopped watching them.
I have a LOT of respect for people like you that work so hard to learn another language and to live in a totally different culture. I grew up with both at once so other than traveling a lot, I wouldn't know how that's like. Much respect to you.
Banzai! Have a good day! Much respect to you as well.
You know I get a kick out of "Clowns" in Japan who thinks they are this and that about Japan but they don't learn the language, customs, manners......... I'll let their actions and comments speak for themselves.
Oh yeah especially the Yamanote Halloween Clowns who thinks it's ok to party inside of train because Japanese salarymen and other Japanese act inappropriately in trains as well.
@novajoke I've never heard of those. I'm guessing it's mostly Americans acting like it's Halloween in San Francisco. If I were to move to another country, even if it's a place like Amsterdam where I can get by with only English, I would still learn the language as much as I can and learn about the culture, not so I can try to fully fit in, but to know how to live there properly.
@novajoke his tiny little Denmark just happens to be one of the greatest countries in the world. Denmark is way better country than Japan in most all aspects. it's considered the happiest country in the world in a list of 20. Obviously Japan is out of this list.
@novajoke im just giving you an information. "Happiness is state of being" oh really? It's not what the others think, but what is fact. and the fact is Japan is not a happy country in general although there are many happy people living here. Is not so easy to be happy in a country where the system, education and culture prevent you to be. but there are smart and strong people who just go and broke these rules and trow away all this shit and start to be themselves and become happy!
The same can be said for other countries then.... The people in America suffers from depression due to supposedly low wages, to not being able to keep with Jones. Thank god America has all those anti-depression pills to keep them happy.
When you say system, education, culture prevent you to be...... what?? When you say "break" rules are you talking about all those demonstration like in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia?
Japan is a peaceful country unlike America, Britain...
@novajoke peaceful country?? hahahaha how you dare say it? Japan is the closest ally of USA, supporting it's politics including stupid wars... like the Iraq war! how a country where the minister honors war criminals as they were heroes can be called peaceful? hahaha what a joke!
Great video, but just as you say, its wrong to drag everyone over one edge, but you filled us up good. Before I went to japan, I thought everything would be fun-time, which not the case was. We ended up with some Japanese friends who told us that the place our hotel was located at, had the highest amount of suicides every year in Tokyo. Tokyo in general seemed as a town of endless stress and rush. I wont judge, I spent my time there for 2 weeks, and i can't deny, that I had the time of my life.
Have to agree with you on every point you mentioned in this video. It's good to see that at least a few people are able to see the truth in terms of Japanese society. I mean a lot / most of the Japanese people living in Tokyo are always pretending to be so friendly, polite and happy but in fact they're just covering their real thoughts and emotions. It's really hard to deal with these kind of people. Japan is just so complicated when it comes to feelings, thoughts and emotions.
Well spoken, but lots of contradictions here. You demand empathy but seem to be -- at least in this video -- to be unwilling to empathize with others.
Here's the thing, every country produces it's breed and it's share of mental casese (for lack of a better word). I'm from the USA. The amount of close minded, self righteous, arrogant idiots in the USA probably outnumber the number of depressed or dark or fake people in Japan.
This video was more of an on-the-fly response to what Zeplin said so I didn't cover everything that I would structurally. I do specify that it's Tokyo as well as other big cities. Even then, I did try to balance it by saying that not everyone's like that, but sure, I did give a few extreme negative cases. I don't demand empathy though, it was more of just a somewhat informative discussion response. Thanks for your comment though. From watching your videos I value and trust your feedback. :)
I just reread my comment. Seems just negative. Concentrate on my first 2 words. Well spoken. I subd. I'll check out some of your other stuff. I did see one other. Your nihongo rocks!
haha, いやいや、いいですよ。I'm always willing to hear the other side if it's someone that thinks deep into things and knows what they're talking about such as yourself. Those are usually the best to have discussions with.
Thank you for the response and thoughts, and condolences are always appreciated!
And yes, I generally show critical with my videos... obviously because of my past, but also because I'm annoyed at all the "JAPAN IS JUST SUPER SUGOI AMAZING", so I want to show the other side!
Ya, that's what I appreciate about your videos is that you bring it up. I think the same thing too about how parts of Japan like to put up this front.
Also how you're willing to hear the other side and accept that you may be wrong is a great humble attitude to have. I wish more people who travel are like this.
That's terrible! What makes someone think that their so special that their entitled to be happy at the exspense of someone else's suffering.

Does japanese persons tend to open up more to foreigners from the west?cause it doesn't have the same stigma to it sort of?
