Hi, I've been learning this piece and can play the notes but getting smoothness in the right hand, so that the phrases sound as they should, is really hard. My RH fingering (first bar of piece) is 215 215 215 215 215 215 213 214. Is this appropriate? I will keep trying to smooth things out.
I am sure that you have improved your musicanship since you posted this video or it could have just been the sound quality but this etude doesn't sound like a piece but rather an exercise like czerny or hanon. I don't feel the musicality of this "deep" Rachmaninoff work.
perhaps its the recording or the piano, but it sounds rather harsh, techinically you play it very well though! love to hear a smoother version! great job!

My fingering for the first part is 315 215 215 315 215 315 214 315.
I think that for the first arpeggio, Ab, C, C, 215 is inappropriate, as you would play the chord itself 315, no? :)
hope that helps you smooth it out a little bit.
