I was in the scene and about around this time, we did get up to Nottingham rock city on a few occassions, I knew all the local faces from up there but never saw him ar anyone who knew him, but he must be about still.
I have been contacted by literally 5 people after my post from last year. Unfortunately my numb nuts brother in law lost the tape a couple of years ago so wallowing in metal heaven is no longer possible. Some other saddo must have a copy?
This has made my day. When I was a 13 year old Greb I musty have played the video of this docu thousands of times. Penny & Mitch rule. East Midlands massive!
I've got the whole of this on VHS. If anyone is bothered contact me and I'll let them have it to upload. There is some classic bits on it. Ozzy & Geezer talking in a caff in Brum, Napalm Death talking bollocks in Bill Steers bedroom, Steve Harris talking about Bruces hearing and my personal favourite is the promoter of the 1988 Monsters of Rock - Maurice someone - talking backstage about one of David Lee Roth's band wanting kosher salami. Apparently it was very difficult to find....
How about the rest of this documentary please? I think Spinal Tap best summed up why you don't get many girls at metal gigs when stating that they're scared because 'it looks like we've got bleeding Armadillos down our trousers'

What was the little kids name that played guitar at the end of the documentary? He has a Steve Vai type guitar?

Wasn't it Thomas McRocklin? No doubt a cunning pun on something more ordinary.......

Which band is playing?
I love the chicken-headbang-dance. Haha

The Band in Nuclear Assault, and the song is "Brain Death" from the Game Over album.
I rememeber this documentary as clear as day, and the slagging off it got in Kerrang the following week.
sidboggle 5 years ago
Okay. I found out myself. But thanks anyway.
I actually thought that the song was the intro on "Red Bomb" by Whiplash. Fucking killer too!

My mate got banned from our local rock club for leapfrogging over the bent-over 'bangers...hehehe
Personally, I prefer the 'skip round the edge' method. it's more expressive. LOL

Haha - I was 14, and the skipping fucking cracked me up! Great to see it again.
