The San Diego trolley system is Ok, EXCEPT for the orange line. I hate riding the Orange Line, it truly is a depressing way to get somewhere. First of all it goes through the worst part of the city.....southeast San Diego, Bleech. In my opinion scarENCANTO should be nuked and left for dead. Also, the creeps that ride on this line, Hip hop homies, bums and illegal aliens for the most part, just are not my cup of tea.
I was on the blue line today, headed toward downtown from National City. Everybody was really cool and well behaved. Then two Urban Americans in hip hop gang clothes came on the train. They were really dark and vile looking, trying to intimidate people. One of the Urban Americans walked real close to me twice, trying to provoke me. I just ignored the idiot. He did the same thing to another guy, a fight almost broke out. I say bring back segregation, I just cannot stand THEM PEOPLE anymore.
@Strannik01 Troll, uh the story was an actual experience I had on the Blue Line. You may be really offended due to total brainwashing by big brother, but, I think that the truth is more important than PC babble. People are starting to see who the real troublemakers are in this country.
I liked the video. As for the previous 2-3 comments, I live on Long Island, and I have noticed that the Long Island Railroad is now making announcements in Spanish, at least sometimes.
What's that got to do with anything? In a lot of cities, like Portland, which is far from the Mexican border, the transit systems are now bilingual.
San Francisco BART announcements are only given in English, though, not that that makes any difference in a tunnel, where it's almost impossible to hear them, no matter the language.
thats fucken stupid. they should stop catering to fucken ilegal mexicans. it pisses me off we let those fucka come in just cause they work for nothing, and the greddy bitches dont wanna pay MIN. WAGE. its fucken crazy, but i mean, its america. i say stop being a bitch, stop letting them bully u saying "its racist" and all that bullshit, round them up and get their, and any illegal crispy greasy bitch ass fucka OUT OF THIS COUNTRY.
HAHA WOW! you are SUCH a dumbass. I think people who can't spell or have anything remotely thoughtful or eloquent to say are far more of a threat to this country [and society in general], than people that come here to work. They should round all of you up and put you guys in school all over again because you obviously didn't learn anything the first time around, that is IF you even bothered to get your ghetto grimy ass an education.
@Strannik01 Yeah, you are right, but, the majority of illegals in this country are from Mexico. Makes sense due to the fact that Mexico is next door, so the USA is a great place to have Anchor Babies.
Really? The MAX light-rail trains in Portland have a top speed of just 55 mph (though that may have been for the first-generation Bombardier equipment; I don't know about the newer vehicles). BART trains in theory have a msximum speed of 80 mph, but I've never seen the speedometer go above about 65.
well it's depending on the type of train. Light rail vehicles can reach different speeds than heavy rail vehicles, like Bombardier. As you may know, in san diego, the coaster uses bombardier vehicles, but they usually reach the speeds you were talking about in residential areas, but in places with a lot of space, they usually go up to 75 miles an hour.

You realize, of course, that most Mexicans come to America legally. (It's true. Check the census)

How about that guy at the very end making a dash across the tracks?! I wonder how often that happens. He didn't even get honked at.

Actually if I remember correctly, about a month ago, someone tried to beat Trolley at the same station resulted in fatality.
But then again, from my memories... ECTS always have a lot of runners and it's just dangerous.

ps., those speeds are only for the newer models (SD70), and of course the operators aren't allowed to go that fast.

Isn't that bridge you see after the Grossmont Transit Center station (not over the station, but AFTER the station) the route 125 freeway?
