I have an E-Flite, and my ex-girl and I had a blast flying it around my old apartment. Granted; I didn't have nearly as much room, and we had a few fish and lizard tanks to be wary of. But it was awesome, and I appreciate how much control it takes to navigate an r/c chopper around. Very nice video.
This is actually a good idea... Now I got one for xmas, but it is not an RC. I am guessing I would have to mount the camera just right....and have a fairly powerful chopper to lift it? or no?
@Kage999 The issue is that most RC helicopter are desigtned to lift only their own weight. So what id recommend is get an RC helicopter with lots of aesthetic bits (like a chinook or apache) and saw those off to make lift for the camera.
can you reccommend one of these for a beginner that is inexpensive. i'm looking for something like this but don't have the know how and just need basic controls.
Why don't u use the cell phone instead of live camera...? You can use the cell phone to record a good quality video on board. With a light weight. Or a software to give you a live video through Bluetooth.
I don't remember the place I ordered that one from, but there are quite a few to be found online. This one was a camera/transmitter combo on 434mhz (ham license needed).
This is a really good video. I enjoyed it. if you need more exposure for your videos check out t u b e v i e w s ( d o t m o b i ) Keep up the good videos and continue to make fresh content.
im going to buy one but if get get it withe the camra allredy monted i cost alot i was wondering how much power it needs to lift the camra because i can buy a camra fo 40$ but it nees a 9volt onbord to power so how much power would i need
blades are plastic, comes with 1 spare set and 1 set attached, quite durable, and very hard to break as they are "loose" on the chopper, where they join the shaft, they can swing along their rotation disc, even if the shaft isn't moving, meaning as long as you cut the power, there will rarely be any damage to the blades.
No, not special at all. I already have the software for displaying the output of the data logger (EagleTree Systems). I also already know how to capture the logger playback to a vid file. I simply need PnP capability in editing software to embed the data logger playback into the onboard (and external) video.
"...This isn't a live video feed, you understand?." Thanks for clearing that up for me.
As for Google you just don't get it. When you Google Picture in Picture you get advertisements for dozens of products, none of which provide actual user feedback.
The guy that posted this obviously found some PnP software that works so I asked him the question - which he answered promptly by the way.
Not a lame question to ask. I'm already familiar with how to capture the video/audio locally and remotely. I am already doing this with large scale RC aircraft.
I need an editor that is capable of Picture in Picture to display airspeed, altitude, RPM, and heading (collected from an onboard data logger) in my videos.
Are you always so abrasive when hiding behind the internet? Does your Mommy know you're online?
Excelent work on this! Very cool! I would like to put a camera on my r.c. mustang drifter, but i'm still trying to work out the best method for using it out in the car park.
great skills, but did you tidy up before deciding to show the world around your house. Looks a bit like a shaky version of cribs! Like the guitars though
with the camera you could use it for super sexy spy missions. like flying into the girls changeroom. genius. depends how you feel about an AVO and a broken helicopter though

What Beholded says can be very true, however not always the case. My Hirobo (in video) is 3 years old and has had many flights. The worse has been broken blades that are meant to break first. Kit came with 5 sets I believe and I still have a couple. Usually break a set every time I let a newbie fly it.
i'd rather have the single propeller one, this is very boring, try the picco z or the havoc heli, you will need a lot of reflex to manuever this so versatile aircraft
