Thats ok sorry you were so shocked but everyone to their own choices. Personally I think even though it is incredibly sad there is some wonderful acting in the third season especially by Ron Perlman as Vincent. For some of us "it is what it is" and we live with it and enjoy what we were given of this beautiful show and the enigmatic character of Vincent.
HOLY... WHAT THE... SHIT. I DIDN'T KNOW SHE DIED!!! :( NO. THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE. :( :( :( I'm only on s2, so I'm not even going to watch s3. I refuse!! :'(
This is based on a fairytale so they should give us a happy ending. I do not see why Catherine can't live Below and still go to work Above. Rent a cheap apartment for a home address if she has to. I cried for the first few episodes of S3. The grief was too much. I can never understand why they have to kill Catherine. They could end it without killing her off and get Linda to stay for a few more episodes. I'll treat S3 as Vincent's nightmare and he'll wake up to find Catherine is alive.
This is quite lovely. As far as I'm concerned, however, the third season never happened. I prefer to live in willful ignorance of the end of their life together.
This was so sad and yet so very beautiful. I loved the soliloquy by Vincent especially while they were showing Father and the others at Catherine's funeral. It makes me cry every time I see it. Season 3 was depressinig because we didn't have Vincent and his Catherine anymore but the acting by Ron Perlman was absolutely off the charts. He showed Vincent as a grieving man who learns to be strong for himself and his son while going after the man that murdered Catherrine. Superb!
Unspeakably beautiful. Without parallel the greatest delivery of adoration in prose ever attempted by an artist. It will never be surpassed. The greatest "truth" in this piece is the divinity of Ron Perlman, as though he channels the expanse of eternity with every breath he breaths into the character of Vincent, at his worst ebb and in the ultimate pathos of true theatrical tragedy delivered with compassion and precision, the artist, Ron Perlman ultimately at his best. The best of the best.
@mollyarabella Couldn't have said it better, my friend. This is Perlman's finest portrayal in his entire career...perhaps the only one with this much depth and richness. This was such a perfect Eulogy for Catherine that none else could have compared.
I should have known better and waited until I was home before watching this! I am crying and now I have to hang out in my cubicle until I compose myself so noone thinks I am having a breakdown! Very nicely done and such a wonderful tribute.
Very poignant video, it's hard not to be moved almost to tears watching it, or this episode of the series. The only way I can watch S3 episodes or videos like these is by believing that it was all a bad dream Vincent had, a nightmare he suffered during his illness, or like in some SND fanfic stories, Catherine didn't actually died and returns to him after recovering from a coma, only then can I watch the 3rd season episodes and read some of the S3 stories (as long as they are always V&C).
I loved this show but I couldn't watch the third season and I still have a lot of problem watching it to this day. It really affected the show when LH left the show in my opinion. I feel that's one major reason that they were cancelled after the third season. JMO!

I'm going with the caveman in Quest for Fire. That was one of the most remarkable performances ever put on film.
But Vincent has my heart.
S3 blows.
