@spencer4real No, what you see is what you get. There is a button that turns the counter off and it auto switches to 5 digits on AM mode for whatever reason. I was using SSB during this call. I plan to do another video of it as the band has been quite active the last few days to South Carolina, Barbados, Georgia. I probably won't purchase a Magnum radio again after using my buddies Yaesu FT890. I am definately looking to sell my export 10 meter radios to get a Yaesu or Kenwood amatuer radio.
I have no interest in operating outside 27mhz... I find it fun to play on freeband once in awhile. ham radio isn't really my thing.. i just play on 11 me
I heard s9's drift on sideband. That is the only thing keeping me from buying one as I like to shoot skip on sideband only. How does yours do on sideband? Pretty stable?
if you are asking where i purchased it.. was at durham radio... they are online... a canadian dealership. They are great radios but for the price I would personally go with a yaesu after using it.
thanks... today the band is fairly dead... glad I got to play with the radio during the good propagation. I'm pretty convinced that due to the low sunspot activity, 10/11 meters is going to be off and on for the next few years till solar cycle 24 ramps up. I remember back in the ealry 90's when I could QSO DX on AM with just a 4 watt walkie talkie!
Are you using any type of power amp? Or are you really transmitting on 4 watts?

@Randyc2800 Sad sad sad. I am a ham but 11 meters is real radio with real people. Most of the people I speak to on 11 meters are hams anyway!
