hohenzollern, where do you get that idea from? Sure, the politicians are corrupt, but economically it has been performing quite well recently...its nothing special, but as long as its sustainable then the philippines could be a very different country in 20-30 years time.
The problem is the birth rate is too high and the president is a devout catholic so she will do nothing about it.

I agree that the Japanese,Koreans,Chinese look down on Filipinos so Filipinos might feel a bit of resentment towards those. But I've never heard of problems between Filipinos and southeast asians...(well maybe some malaysians and viets, but that's about it)

I know. Ferdinand Marcos was a tyrant, but we can't deny that under his rule, Philippines rose to be one of the richest nations. Too bad after he was forced to stepped down, the Filipinos voted someone who didn't know what she was doing, and the rest is history. The bad thing is, even the Filipinos themselves don't seem to notice how others are suffering. I'm a Filipino, and it pains me to see how this nation had fallen from grace.
