this song from Suzi Kim is probably one of the best song intros of a 90s game. along with Bloody roars crazy metal guitar. sc4 is probably going to be the best sword fighting game ever. but there is alot of other fighting games with swords out there like Battle arena toshinden, star gladiator,and bushido blade those are also very good. XD

i bought soul blade the first game. i also bought soul calibur 2 and 3 i just need a dream cast for soul calibur 1. and i am about to get soul calibur 4 for the ps3. its by far my favorite fighting game ever. it used to be all about tekken but that got lame, and uninspiring

use the emulator play station 2 for pc, although the graphics do not look like the original. I recommend you play it on console

Seigfreid in SC3 is quiet easily the strongest character. Above the other strong characters like Mixarugi Voldo Kilik and Sophitia

maybe it's just me but i think there are no best characters in these kinds of games...it's just up to you and your style of fighting

yeah sorry to say dude. But SC3s main weakness was characters being unbalanced because their was no arcade SC3 before it unlike other Namco fighhting game. SC3 as opposed to a very balanced game like Tekken 3 is a bit of a mess. Ask anyone they will tell you Kilik, Sophitia, Cervantes, Seigfreid and maybe some others have a way better move list than others

Agree and Disagree, I use Nightmare mainly in 3 as well as 1, 2, and soon 4 as well as Talim as my mains, and win against Kilik Seigfreid and the others with ease, but the two I think are the most unbleanced in 3 was Voldo and Xiangua (Yea I know her name is spelled wrong to lazy to look up how to spell it) try facing off with a noob useing them, the noob can and has beating many vets with those two chartecers, SC3 both easily one of the best and wrost of the Soul Series hopefully 4 will fix it!

hmmm well did you do tornaments or just against the AI? see i kinda played that game for a sad ammount of time (300 hours at least) i have anyalised all of the characters and yeah I think Nightmare is amongst the weakest. But of corse like always if a pro with nightmare faces a noob playing as Seigfreid of Kilik then the pro will win its not ridiculopusly unbalanced just when you get deeper into the moves some characters are better than others

In West Virigina there is no way to get to a toury, my main enemies are my friends and random people in my area, if you know what your doing with any charecter against a human opponent the unbealence disappears. Good opponents makes it disappear. To masters of a certain charecter can have a wonderful match, example is Nightmare verus Siegfried, I use Nightmare and My opponent uses Siegfried, Siegfried is all around better, but because I have more skill with Nightmare than they do with Sig, I win

yeah were in absolute agreement! its always gonna come down to whos the better player overall. No matter who your character is guard breaks, grabs, sidestepping and blocking is the same furthermore theres no Really really bad character. I should probrally correct myself. The game isnt ridiculously unbalanced just unbalanced

This game was uniqu and special. Then SC3 came, gave us more of the same, and that´s it.

Let´s hope they can revive the series in the 4.

you should really get soul calibur. While the combat system has probably gotten better in the new ones, soul calibur 1 had a really unique feel to it the other ones havent managed to capture since. I've been waiting for them to release it on the xbla, which they could do since all games in that day were under a gig.
