I was one of the divers in the backround. Hayden comes swimming up to me after this and wrote on my slate "puffer bit me" and shows me his finger which had already started going black. His nail fell out after about a month. He's pretty lucky actually, puffers sometimes take fingers of divers stupid enough to do this

Yup, that was pretty stupid of the diver to put a finger in the puffer's mouth. An educated and repsectful person probably would have not touched the fish in the first place. Puffers "feel fear" or have a fear response that is why they puff up and appear too big to be eaten, that is their defense. Duh.
