correct. Doing it this way is the best. Having your E-DrumKit reference a full kit is the best IMO. Screw playing around with a 4inch inch rubber pad set.
I have a cheap drumset with pearl mufflehead mesh heads and an Alesis D4 also..using a sustain pedal to control the hi-hat open/close and old drum muffle mute pads to punch a hole in the center and drape over the cymbal.
I wonder how to aquire inexpensive velocity sensitive triggers.
Your high hat work is what electronic drummers of most cases drool of.
Very responsive and a great, tight funky sound on your zoned out snare drum. awesome man!
whoa i thought this was a trap or travel set set at first great job man! i have never been too partial to electronic drums but that sample set you have sounds better than and roland ones on the kits i sell at guitar center. lol.
Nice job, I'm currently working on one as well. My toms look like a similar design. How did you make your kick? Did you use a shell, or just a hard surface?
I am in the middle of building a electronic kit. Loved your idea to cut old drums in half to give it an acoustic look. I noticed you didnt talk about how you did the high hat, how many triggers did u use and how does the open cymbal trigger work. Iv got a "hi-hat foot control" input on my module but what do I do with this. Cheers, and thanks for the inspiration.
hey nice drums !!!, would you mind to tell me the type of trigger you are using?, i'm planning on building a kit very close to yours
