Ugh, this is probably the hardest boss in Metroid games. It took me 10 tries to kill him on hypermode (no walkthroughs), and most bosses only take me one or two tries!

dammit... i just spent 30 min trying to destroy all four crystals... didnt know you were suppose to shoot into them in hypermode afterwards lol. i got to three but that 4th one on his back was impossible hahahaha.. now i know why.

Agreed probably the worst boss fight ive had to endour in the entire metroid series. Not, bad mind you, for any cheap attacks, but this boss was designed to waste your freakin time! God he has so many moves that just slow down the pacing of the fight and make it become boring and aggravating. Switching orb positions, healing overloaded orb spots, dashing with protective...booties on!!

@yumyumeatemup Worst thing is the bastard has an orb in the back of him too. Like "oh noes the orb switching isnt enough we gotz to give him an orb in an impossible to hit area" , somewhere i swear a retrostudio programer is laughing his ass off. Mad props on the walkthrough and tips on bringing this asshole down though, mad props! :D

@Chykkalarvaquadraxis Yeah, I remember quadraxis was the shit. I couldn't beat him in any difficulty, and nowadays I can beat him on hard without having a hard time. Even I remember beating him then I turned off the game just to beat him twice because it was so much fun beating that boss.

im really confused. I thought whenever you go into hypermode it makes you lose an energy tank (100 health). Yet somehow you go into it and out of it over and over again and dont lose any health. How do you do that?

@dman519 I actually am losing health. You only lose 100 health if you use your hypermode all the way through. But if you cancel it before you use all of it, you'll be left with the amount of health left from the corruption.

I remember when I first got to this boss, just got done watching your video on him in hard mode. I was thinking "Hey he shouldn't be too bad, I remember what Hunters did." Soon as I get to him my mind went blank and forgot what to do lol the end result, I beat him after 40 minutes of "destroy the orbs he's trying to get! Noo!"

I beat him on hypermode yesterday and it took me like 40 minutes because I was only ever able to destroy one of the balls (when he grabbed for the ones on the side to replenish his health). And then I got stuck under him (and took 230 damage O_o) so I couldn't use hypermode util I replenished a but (I had about 170 health or sumthin)

heres a tip on beating him: when he uses that laser attack on you shoot the ice missiles at his face and his face freezes then you can shoot the red orbs easier.

You can shoot a missile into its mouth when it does the laser attack and you get a free shot at the orbs

That's why Mogenar tries to keep switching the position of the orbs so you can't get one.
