Wow..all the haters, why? Shipley and Welker are great role models for young white kids. The reality is, most young white kids, even if they are very good, are not given a fair chance at certain positions. "Sorry kid...you've got skill...but you'll never be a high caliper receiver or running back....just the way it is". Sure some transition to the college level, but not many to the pro level. It only makes sense that some white kid would emulate these guys. It's a good thing for everyone.

I call this guy a point possession receiver ,he reads the defense as it tries to get the qb, blows out the defensive scheme as they think they have him pinned,they don't. Plus,he's deceptive with his speed changes gears just enough to gain an extra ten to fifteen yards.

Have a strong power running game up the middle, then have Vince Young be the outside running threat and then have 2 receivers that are good for yards after the catch, as Vince Young isnt that accurate unless its under 15 yards. You could even run the triple option out of shotgun like Florida and have Welker be the slot receiver that goes in motion to be the pitchman, he does everything a runningback does except take handoffs, he would be great in that area.

Welker is 5'9 which is close to average height (5'9.5) and is built like a rock, hes like a stockier version of Brian Westbrook, except he doesn't get to run with the ball (westbrook gets plenty of receptions like Welker) Hes had over 100 receptions the past 3 seasons, one of the quickest guys ive seen in a long time and isn't anything like Wayne Cherbet. Only a few other receivers had 100 receptions 3 consecutive seasons, Jerry Rice, Marvin Harrison and I think now Brandon Marhsall.

depends on the system qb and receiver. A guy like Johnson or Fitzgerald can make great catches and adjust to poorly thrown balls. Guys like Welker always find a way to get open to be a quarterback's safety valve, and always come back to the quarterback when he is in trouble.
