Thank you Islanders fans for having us over on Dec. 11, 2010! You guys are awesome and we will never forget your support and hospitality! The Isles have class for posting "Welcome Quebec City residents" on the board in the second period.
Quebec city is worth having it's team back, it will be one of the best hockey town in the world, like it once was... It's kinda sad to see the best teams having difficulty to sell tickets and play in front of an almost empty arena... The devils, for example, are one of the best team and is part of hockey's dynasty... but it struggles to have 4,000 people per game, it's a shame
Nobody there!!!! Jeeze NHL fans have to get up and send 2500 fans to another city where they dont draw flies just to promote their city for relocation and the NHL keeps putting teams in the wrong place ... WOW just a brutally run league
@tacular3 There was only 1100 from Quebec and the attendance was announced at over 10,000. The Islanders do have many fans, just who would want to go see this team in this stadium? I have been there, good times and bad times. This is a bad time.
@IslesPunkFan - Those were the numbers? Seriously? 1 in 10 fans there was Quebecois? That's pretty pathetic from a NY point of view. Believe me, a shitty stadium in any Canadian city wouldn't keep the fans away. NHL needs to get out of Phoenix, Atlanta, Florida, Carolina, Tampa Bay, Nashville and (based on those numbers) Long Island. Quebec City, Winnipeg and Toronto (2nd team) would appreciate franchises much more.
@XBillums It is not just the stadium that is keeping people away. The price for the tickets is outrageous, especially for a team that is doing so poorly. Then their is the on-and-off ice performance of the team.
@IslesPunkFan - I feel that man. Charles Wong sounds like a terrible owner. At least you guys have history going for you, with that great team that rivalled Gretzky's Oilers. It just pisses me off to see the NHL repeatedly shaft Canadian fans.
@XBillums I know what you mean. I think that it sucked that Quebec lived through the bad years of the team just to see them be a great team and win cups in Colorado.
Let's not forget how the NHL is happy to sit back and milk the 'rivalry' between Crosby and Ovechkin (.. have you seen the commercials?). It also baffles me that the NHL bought the money spewing franchise that is the phoenix coyotes and proceeded to get into a huge legal battle to NOT move them.
@discodarth - You`re right, the league is terribly managed. Gary Bettman and Bill Daly do terrible jobs. The Phoenix situation is a joke. I still can`t get over them turning down Balsillie.
@wawawewaryan When the Islanders are a decent team, they too pack the place. The Habs are good (a cousin of mine plays for them), when they are bad for an extended time, then you can compare them. When a team is playing bad for years, then people ask, "is paying over $100 to see a poor team worth it?" These days, the answer is almost always, "NO."
@ACE101896 They did a lot of cheers: Let's Go Islanders, Gary Bettman, etc. When it was 15:10, they counted down to 15:00 and cheered like crazy for 30 seconds. This was done to represent the 15 years since they lost their team.
CM Punk is comin' in at 13 seconds!

@IslesPunkFan
The Bell Center did have good attendance during the dark years of the late 90's and the early 2000's.

@blackhound70 I wish I was able to do that. It was a spontaneous decision to tape it and I only had my iPhone to take the video.
