@Jpear5000 This pop filter is very well made. It'll probably last 20+ years. I'm a superficial, materialistic kind of guy, and I just bought it cause it looks cool... :-)
...BUT, I'm SURE there are cheaper, and better actual *performing* pop filters out there. Some that cost like $20-$30 will be fine for most people's use.
@Man7rah It really depends on what you are wanting to do with it. With a pop filter, there's little audio difference for web video, podcasts etc. The only reason I went Yeti is because it just looked a bit cooler... :-) Oh - and I got it for the same price as the snowball!!
the mix of australian and american - the way you pronounce Rs, especially in 'here' makes me chunder slightly, when mixed with the rest. otherwise good!
@ricosuave607 Mate - you just plug the thing in using the (supplied) USB cable... :-) Then I'm sure either your PC will automatically switch to it as the microphone input (a Mac will do this automatically), or you'll have to adjust something in the settings on your PC...
I didnt end up drilling a hole into mine and just dug through a box of extra screws and parts. Found a 4 inch flat metal thing with 3 holes in it. Not sure what you would call it? But I just attached it to the screw on the side of the mic stand and attached the pop filter to that. Took 5 minutes and I didnt have to drill anything.
couldnt you have just went to home depot and got a threaded steel nipple and screwed it in the bottom of the mic, then you could just clamp it on to that?
Mate - YOU should be in charge over at blue Mic's labelling division. You could call the mic something like "The Common Sense Pop Filter..." or something hahaha
@DKJANZ ya for UNIVERSAL stands haha not for all mics that be like trying to put it on like (just for example) Samsung m10 mic it wont happen its MADE for a STAND so ya haha again common sense
@DONEBHS - it actually doesn't fit mate. What would totally solve the need to do this is for the rear of the stand to have slightly narrower edges +/- the bracket piece being slightly wider. The drilling is a tad extreme (it's all alloy) but it sure holds that pop filter 100% PERFECT... :-)
@xFlameOfHellx Care factor = zero... I couldn't return this if I tried. Couldn't even BUY the damn thing in Australia... Had to buy it from amazon, ship it to one of my US mates who then couriered it down to the arse end of the world... :-)
@DKJANZ I did exactly the same to get mine in Melbourne. Amazon wouldn't ship to Oz. But the price in Oz is up to $249 ! for the Yeti alone. (Tell him he's dreamin') I got my Yeti on a promo for $99 from Amazon and the PF was an extra $35. Had it shipped (free) to a buddy in CA, who sent it to me in Melbourne. I found this video of yours because I figured I was stupid. EPIC design fail from Blue, but as you say each product is awesome. Must go ... I have a date in my garage with a 6mm bit ..
@Deano647 Yeah it's a bit bizarre how they'll ship basically everything except the pop filter down under... But dang you got a sharp deal for them both!!! good work!!! Hope your date with the 6mm drill bit was as hot as mine... lol
Awesome video mate. I imagine you will get a lot of feedback for this. I'm really surprised at the lack of information on YouTube to solve this issue. This video just sealed the deal for me as far as ordering this pop filter for my Blue Yeti Pro. Thanks!
@NiZZULiVE No worries man, hopefully this solves the issue for people. Either that, or the people at Blue Mic's actually watch it and take some tips from it, re-design the base slightly, and make this video irrelevant!!! :-)
Is it worth getting this pop filter over a cheap plastic one I currently have?

@Jpear5000 Yeah I remember now... They wanted about $100 to SHIP the damn thing to Australia... For $33 on amazon - it's a BARGAIN.
DKJANZ 2 days ago
@DKJANZ Lol amazon can be good sometimes but I went with B&H for this (I live in Australia as well). $59 including 4-6 day UPS shipping not bad.

You can see how some do it on amazon.

TastyTortilla 4 months ago
Thanks for suggesting drilling a hole! I tried it and it fits perfectly, definitely the easiest way to get these damn things to fit together!

Thanks for sharing this with us because it looks like a way better fix than others have recommended. I will be drilling mine tomorrow as well.

The downside? The warranty is insta-fucked. I'd probably just mess up trying this anyways..
