We had him neutered and his fur all grew back... turns out he had too much testosterone :-o Once the fur started growing back (it took only one month after the Big Snip), we had his leather collar lined with sherpa to help prevent chafing and he only wears his collar when on walks. He doesn't pull anymore either... lots and lots of training - thank you Cesar Milan! ps: i posted a recent video so you can see his neck fur all normal :)
@technodoll So what happens if this kind of dog or any dog have too much Testosterone, can it be dangerous for you, or to others only because I know that with high Testosterone level makes it more aggressive.
@Mr291229 unless someone is a professional (and reputable breeder), there is no reason to keep dogs intact in my opinion... neutering your dog reduces aggression, yes, and unwanted babies and improves health - of course you need to train your dog too, neutering is not a magical cure against a dog with aggressive tendancies!
good looking akitas...my akita has the same rash from the collar as your male akita around the neck. what did you do about it? cuz the fur is not coming back

LOL well, they are standing next to a 6'4" tall guy so maybe the perception is skewed. They are definitely not small...
My boy is 28" at the withers and weighs 144 lbs, the female is 27" at the withers and is lighter at 95 lbs.
I wish they were still puppies, they used to be so cute :-)
