@Blondediamonds1 Hello. I did not check this video again until now, so I am just seeing your response. I don't know if Lucie starred with anyone besides Robert Klein in the show. I have never seen the show, but I like the music from it. Therefore, I would like to see it someday.
I really love this book and the music. This song brings back so many good memories of my teen-age years when I was attending SCPA in Cincinnati, Ohio as apart of the Musical Theater program. Man, time flies, but this song is still playing...lol I am still bumping this soundtrack in my mp3 player(i was on the bus listening to it yesterday 4/25/11) Lol...great music never dies, right?
A beautiful song that I can do all my best dance moves that I choreographed to while taking Valium pills and spinning around the room as fast as I can. Thank you for posting this.
I remember seeing this on TV and it caused me to buy the tape of the show (no CDs back then) and play it over and over again. Unfortunately, I have never seen the show. I remember Marvin Hamlisch saying in an interview that if he felt down certain evenings, he could time it so that he would jump on the subway, take it to the show, and get there in time to see this number from the back of the theater.
Wow what Robert Kline lacked in vocal style he sure makes up in personality. I remember doing this musicin High school and Lucy Arnez is also amazing! Does anyone have a whole copy of the show I would love to see it
What amazing performances!!!! I am astonished that Lucy never became a huge Broadway musical star. She sure has the talent!!! Robert Klein? They don't get much better. A very much underrated show!
Thank you for posting this underappreciated Broadway musical. I saw Victor Garber in Kline's role. This show is ripe for a revival. I loved every single moment of this show.
Fun show. I remember the commercials when I was in Elementary school. Disco was so much fun. Of course, everyone was trying to be Travolta but we all could not be. For those of us who did not take it too seriously it was fun. The arm movements, rolls, pointing...etc...! 80's music, for me, was th best to dance to. College years. from GLORIA to MICKEY to the 1 song wonders...so much fun with free for all dancing. These were the days!
My dad used to play this record all the time after he had seen it on Broadway. So....I memorized all the songs in the LP. But now, watching this clip, I really got nostalgic. Good old days....
What a great find! Saw it 2x on Broadway and remember this 1978 Tonys show. They brought down the house!. thx for the memories. Wore out the grooves on the album.
Lucie Arnaz is the most underrated actress, singer, performer in our business! God bless her that she's still out there giving it her all. I saw her last year and the year before, she's funny, witty and just the TOPS live!
Thanks for this! I haven't seen that clip in 25 years. But I remember that red fringe. I caught Lucie Arnaz's cabaret act in LA a few years ago and she sang all her hits. I told her she was the last woman I ever loved :)
the production in Mexico was wonderful, I never saw it in english, thanks to post it, one of my favorites musicals, a little update, but the book it's wonderful! do you have the number where their "inner voices" write a new song? I don't remember the name of the number he!
Love this. I recorded this on my Betamax when I was a kid. My copy is heavily damaged though, since it is at the very beginning of a tape. Happy to see it here. Thanks!
I do too! I had never seen it until the other day when I was watching some old Tony performances. Robert Klein cracked me up. It's such a fun number! Sorry this copy isn't the greatest-- and the audio is off. It's not off on the VOB file, but when I converted it to put op on here, for some reason it messed with the audio.
Hi ChicagoSouthDan...I saw this show in the eary 70's on Broadway...I know I saw Luzy Arnaz so I will say I did see it with Robert Klein.
Did she also star with anyone else?

im singing this song in choir (the first song)
thebeatlesluvr4 10 months ago
@thebeatlesluvr4 Is it a church choir? Although this is a G-rated song and I like it, it does not seem like the type of song that a choir would sing.

Aaw, no. I'm sorry. I don't have that song. This was a performance that was filmed for the Tony Awards back in the seventies. ;)
