  • Pure poison is very comforting to me. I just discovered Prada Insfusion De Fleur D Oranger & it is now quite comforting too. I have a problem with perfumes lasting on me though. I was told if you have dry skin, that can make them fade quicker, any suggestions. The only one that really has "staying power" with me is Angel & I really don't like it anymore. I was thinking of getting the Creed Silver Mountain Waters in the oil, hoping that would last longer.

  • @BELLA691967 I've got dryer skin, and I live in a dry climate, and one thing that works is to use the oil version of a perfume (if available) or to moisturize before applying perfume with an unscented oil like jojoba oil.

  • Thank you for all these wonderful reviews! I'm definitely going to try and track down Tea Rose but being a lover of sweet roses I was wondering does Tea Rose smell sweet? Also I was wondering if you've done or are ever planning to do a review of your favourite rose scents?

  • @pascha120 Tea Rose is sweet as in a sweet flower smell, but not candy sweet. I like your idea of a fave rose perfume vid!

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Ah thanks for your reply! I've been trying to find a scent that smells just like the sweet smelling roses I have in my garden and haven't quite found 'the one' yet. Funnily enough I tried DG's The One but it wasn't the sweet smelling nostalgic kind of rose scent I've been looking for. A few friends have told me to give Fracas or Ombre Rose a go (I haven't yet) but I must say the price and (from what I've read) the staying power of Tea Rose is a huge drawcard for me.

  • @pascha120 Both Fracas and Ombre Rose, as fantastic as they are, are elaborate compositions where you will not find your simple garden rose. I predict more success with PW Tea Rose and Penhaligon's Elisabethan Rose.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Thanks Katie, I ended up getting Tea Rose and you were right on the money! I tried a few of the other rose scents I mentioned but Tea Rose was definitely the rose scent I was looking for. I swear this is one of those scents that I smell and I just can't help but smile. I'll definitely keep an eye out for the Penhaligon's scent you mentioned too so thank you so much for the tip off! :)

  • @pascha120 So glad you found your rose garden! Thanks for letting me know how it worked out.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Tea Rose is perfection. It's important that you mention dew, as the first thing that comes to mind after spritzing it is wetness. You also get the stem! It's almost green. Perfect for rainy days and marvelous over bathwater.

Very '70s, though, I must say. However, it shows its age without aging you. Very Marcia Brady-goes-to-college. Makes me think of a pretty, popular girl with long, stick-straight hair. Maybe even Gloria Steinem – in her prime.

  • @ts121084 I love the Marcia Brady/Gloria Steinem references!

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells I know this has nothing to do with perfume, but I think you are a gorgeous woman! And don't worry.. I'm not an old ugly creep. I'm a 23 year old heterosexual woman, i promiss :p But you really are very beautiful.

  • wow thank you so much for all your great discriptions of the perfumes. Tea Rose is my favorite ever! The one you showed by perfumers workshop. My mother used to wear it and then is started wearing it. i would walk into a rose and in a good way people would know that i was there just by the scent..." i smell roses" everyone would say. thank you so much you're amazing!

  • @betrueist Thanks to a fellow rose lover!

  • Recently bought a bottle of Homage Attar

Homage Attar smells good the moment its on. No "burning off" alcohol. Best rose combination with other elements, works very well with body heat. Wonderfully blended ingredients. I need about 2 dips before the scent is nicely applied so I can smell it all the time.

hmm Montale ouds seems to yell at me but the White less so. Nice review Katie!

  • @MKBEntertainment Thanks for your feedback! Homage Attar is simply a wonder.

  • P.S. I really like Tova. a comfort scent for me. She sold her compant to a TV retailor and they have changed the original formula and it is really not the same, but I still enjoy it and it drifts along with me all day.

  • HI Katie, I am watching your older reviews. I must say I am ordering tea rose and four samples from the Perfumed Court. Have you ever purchased a decant from them. I really like the fact that they sell samples at a decent price. You are bad for my pocket book. :) I want to try most everything you like& review. Thank you for your wonderful reviews. I have really liked most fragrance you recommended, but the full size bottle are quite pricey sometimes ~ Fellow Fumehead your friend Darlene Taylor

  • @chang248 You've got a very smart nose! Homage Attar has a high concentration of natural ingredients, and therefore each batch will smell slightly different. Mother Nature is one of the contributing perfumers, here.

  • Love, love, love Back to Black! My sister and mom both said I smelled like Cherry Pie when I wore it. Because they said that, I assumed it was cherry. But once I found it was raspberry, now I smell raspberry! I love raspberries. It's such a smooth and sensual fragrance. I actually found an eBay seller who bought the 4 x .25oz travel refills, and was selling them individually for around $25. It's the perfect size for me! Oh and as for me and comfort scents, I love Ambre Narguile. So delicious.

  • @CanwllCorfe615 That's a nifty little deal you got - great way to try this lush fragrance.

  • HOLLY COW!!! I didn't even know there were such thing as perfume bloggers!! I have found HEAVEN!!!!! uuhhh this is so cool, I couldn't help my self had to grab a spritz myself!! lol this is great!!

  • @Jocelynsjourneys There's a whole big fumiverse out there of perfume bloggers and YouTubers. Welcome home!

  • I feel pretty and uplifted whenever I wear my Fleurs de Jour body lotion (from La Bouquetiere). It's warm yet bright in a gentle way. There's a woodsy element in the background that's a little mysterious too. Origins' Gloom Away never fails to perk me up. The bottle says grapefruit but it smells more like a warm orange to me. One spritz & the happy switch in my brain flicks on. Sometimes I combine the two. I'm a new subbie & I'm smitten with the way you articulate your fragrance experiences.

  • @ScentedAir Welcome aboard, and thanks for your suggestions!

  • Oh and as for favorite comfort scents:

    Flower by Kenzo

    Regan by BPAL

O by BPAL (check out O, it has honey)

Bellodgia by Caron (it's my mother's signature scent)

Shalimar (my mother's signature scent when I was a child)

Regan feels like a big coy hug. When I was taking exams in college, I would wear it.

  • @sparkybish That's a good list. Nice to be able to summon Mom with a spritz.

  • I love your stalking Back to Black story. I stalk Penhalignon's the same way. But they have the same three people working there at Saks, so it's tough to pull off the repetitive samples of one scent. Especially since I am that person who chats with them for an hour and they remember me.

  • @sparkybish I know exactly the awkwardness you're describing! Been there!

  • Katie is so right about the tea rose. I wore it in high school and just started to wear it again. It brings back alot of good memories. I would love to try Daphne. :)

  • @janeeyre1975 Love the Tea Rose!

  • Vanilla Fields. My Mum used to wear it when I was a little girl, and vanilla has represented comfort and femininity to me ever since.

  • @MaiCecile A great memory, and one easily accessed with a sniff of Vanilla Fields.

  • "Have you seen your mother lately?....No?, She's in here!."

    love it!

  • Try Coco Chanel...it might just suit you too.

  • @domperrier Oh! I really like Coco Chanel every time I smell it in the store...

  • I love White Aoud - it is very cozy (although, starts a bit crazy); Some of my comfort scents are Comme des garcons Jaisalmer and Fleur oriental by Miller Harris))

  • @deathscythe77 Ooh, I love both of those!

  • I love L'Air du Desert Marocain by Andy Tauer. It smells like I have been transported to a warm delicious market full of all good things to eat and mysterious incense and sand and heat. This, in one whiff, is like a dream. It also has great sillage on me. What I mean by that is that I smell it every once in a while and it makes me smile and think,"Wow, I smell fabulous!!!"

  • @2hisinc I love it when that happens.

  • i found that Kilians perfumes dont last on me , my husband thouthg that back to black smells like "dirty" you know what i mean ...

  • Actually I found my all-year round comfort scent through one of your reviews, Katie: It's Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Abricot. A little more than a year ago I went to Paris and bought it, remembering your video, and since then the perfume and me are inseparable! So thank you Katie for bringing me to my comfort scent!

  • @atamarie21 That's a very nice tale indeed! Glad to indirectly bring you a bit of comfort.

  • for me, the list would be:

L'Artisan Parfumeur: Dzing! & Bois Farine

    L'Occitane: Labdanum de Seville

Serge Lutens: Musc Koublai Khan (wow!)

a pillow fragrance called Rose Bud by Durance

a body lotion from Purtivo (a brand in my country? I am not so sure)

which is basically a dish of coffee-cocoa-hazel cream! :D

  • @IlDottoreFaustus I can imagine why all of those smells are comforting - they're all warm, slightly sweet animalic scents.

  • What lipstick are you wearing and the name of the color? It is beautiful!

  • @MsJgreen77 It could be either Chantecaille Flirt gloss or Bobbi Brown Petal gloss.

  • My favorite comfort scent is an oldie but still a goodie and that is, Obsession. Yes, just the original. I love it in the winter and it brings back memories of my teenage years because one of my friends mother always had it on and I thought that she was so glamourous! I get lost in that scent, it takes me into the woods on an evening right before the sunset, with snow falling and a small, white, Victorian house with Christmas decorations all around! Delicious and comfy!

  • You said who doesn’t like the smell of orange…. me…. when I was pregnant the smell of orange would make me vomit, isn’t that crazy? I’m back to liking the smell of orange again.

    Thanks for sharing!

    JAnet

  • @TheMoultonj Oh gosh - poor you!! It's good that you were able to reclaim orange as a nice smell.

  • Hi Katie,

Would you be interested in doing a review of my perfume book, THE ROGUE PERFUMER? I know it is a little different from what you are doing now, but still very much related. I think you will find it very interesting and hopefully intriguing. It is definitely different than most books out there on the market. Let me know what you think and I will be happy to send you one.

Love your reviews! Keep up the great work!

    Dr. Bobbie Kelley

  • Thank you Katie, my mom is Private Collection. When ever I wear and or smell it I get a warm fuzzy filling inside like a warm double arm hug. It smells nice on me but on my mother it is as if she has always smelled like that. I really love how smells can bring up memories.

  • @KaliDishgirl Private Collection is a classy perfume. How gorgeous that it invokes your mom!

  • Ahhh...lately for comfort I've been turning to Ombre Rose. It was my very first fragrance as a young girl.....I swiped it from my mother so many times she just gave up and bought another one. When I ran across it online some months ago I snagged a 1oz bottle for old times. It rbings back so many memories! Gosh.......I'm now intrigued with the higher concentrations. I may spring for one within the next year or two.

    Cont...

  • @xandria20 What?! I'VE been obsessed with Ombre Rose - only just recently - so it's funny timing that you mentioned it. I just discovered it in Sept when I was in Harrods in London, and I was playing with the edp and the parfum. I actually went back twice to try to compare the 2 on my skin, because it was hard to tell from the blotter. I still haven't reached a conclusion. The SA says he loves the edp cuz he sprays it on his sheets for that comfort smell. The parfum is the juice w/o a sprayer.

  • I would have to say my go-to comfort scent is Lann-Ael by LostMarch. It smells like warm, sweet cereal with cream and the most delicate apples mixed in, and it's even soft enough to wear to bed. Btw, your channel is ADDICTING!

  • @kiwi121582 Lann-Ael is such a connoisseur's scent. Thanks for your addiction problem with KP Smells!

  • I love that you like to feel like a sexy kitty haha I'm totally in love with your channel I subbed! ♥

  • @juanmora19910209 Thanks for the sub-love!

  • I think my comfort scent is 4711. My grandma used to have a flacon of it standing on her nightstand and, although she never wore it, I always associate that smell with her because I used to play around with it when she babysitted me. So whenever I smell 4711 I think of my childhood days (sounds funny coming from a 19 year old I guess ;)) and feel like my grandma is about to give me some gummibears.

  • @19myself91 Isn't that interesting how you can associate a fragrance with someone, even if they didn't actually wear it?

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells it's amazing!

  • Hi Katie, LOVE your videos. So sorry about your Secretions Magnifique experience...

My favorite comfort scent is Champs Elysees by Guerlain. There's something about the flowers that are really uplifting. I actually feel stronger when I wear it, too - like I have a good friend cheering me on.

  • Bad kitty...

  • Like you said, Orange is a happy pill !

  • Right now, my comfort scent is L'occitane Amber.

It is very warm and definitely the sweetest fragrence I own, it helps me transition seasons.

Ps- LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos!!!!

  • @Missrosebud29 Thanks thanks THANKS for your lovely compliment. And yes - amber is so cozy and comforting!

  • My comfort scent is Aromatics Elixir by Clinique. Although it makes me sneeze and I hate it with a passion is it my mother's favourite perfume and when I smell that it makes me think of her.

  • @4TheLuvOfBillyElliot That's an interesting perspective: a comfort scent that you'd never wear yourself, but which still delivers comfort.

  • @4TheLuvOfBillyElliot Ah!! That's so funny because it's the same with my mom. She's been wearing Aromatics Elixir her whole life so I've grown up with that scent. I always think of my mom when I smell it even though I probably wouldn't wear it

  • What a lovely video. To me "comfort scent" is the ultimate to get from a parfume. To soothe, to relax, to whip you away to another place you feel totally comfortable in.

So far only one scent has been able to "do it for me" and that is Aromatics Elixir by Clinique. I know some love to hate it...it is one of these fragrances but I never get tired of it, it never bores me, I never get headache from it, it just wraps me up into a nirvanesque cocoon where nothing can reach me. LOVE it.

  • @materidouska286 So wonderful to find a perfume that really has your back. A friend of mine only wears Aromatics Elixir and always smells beautiful.

  • Great video. My comfort scents are Amouage Gold, Carolina Hererra Flore,Chanel no.5 , Tom Ford Jasmine Musk and Creed Jasmin Imperatrice Eugenie. I have so many fragrances but these make me feel so warm and comfy.

  • @MsEEvaM Oh wow, that's quite a list! I love Tom Ford Jasmine Musk every time I encounter it.

  • Katie, someday you should treat yourself to the By Kilian Back to Black travel atomizer. I'm sure you've seen it -- a beautiful, heavy, jet black, ornate atomizer that comes with 4 .25oz bottles of Back to Black. I think it's around $135. but thats easier to rationalize than their big satin-lined lacquer boxes. Back to Black is my new obsession and I can't wait till the cooler the weather. Go for it!

  • @MikeNY911 Oh believe me -- I'll use any rationalization method I can to justify a splurge! And you're right, the travel size is the way to go with Back to Black.

  • I'm back again with the Theo Fennell! You MUST smell this! Rose, saffron, insense!

  • @thegherks1 I'm SO happy you keep reminding me about this at just the point I forget about it. I shall look into this now!

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells It does have some cumin that some find troubling. I have a feeling you won't. I've gone through 9 bottles already. I am really painting myself as an obsessed freak aren't I! Over a 1000 fragrances and uses a bottle a week! Ah well, never said I was normal! ;oP

  • my comfort scents are burberry brit are miss dior cherie (maybe odd ones, but they always make me feel comforted) :)

  • @LuluLiefdeHaat The emotional association you have with the perfume is always the thing that determines how comforting it is, I find.

  • My comfort scents are: 10 Corso Como, Lolita Lempika, Weleda Skin Food lotion, and Moroccan Oil Shampoo.

Back to Black and Dauphine are now on my ever growing sample list! & Musc Ravageur !

  • @grandallegro Oh, I love the smell of 10 Corso Como and Moroccan Oil Shampoo. I think Miller Harris Fleur Oriental is similar smelling to the Moroccan Oil line.

  • Comment removed

  • Oh, I love the scent of 10 Corso Como and Moroccan Oil Shampoo. I think Miller Harris Fleur Oriental is similar smelling to the Moroccan Oil line.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells - I will have to try Fleur Oriental next since it smells similar to Moroccan Oil . Add Back to Black to my Cozy comfort scents! My sample is almost gone since I have been using it everyday -it's so addicting and yummy.

  • Hi my name is Sarah and I too am a sample hoarder...

  • @CAJUNTWINSMOM Ha-ha-ha....

  • how is Scent of Peace by Bond No 9...does it smell peaceful and comforting?

  • I just went out to try the By Kilian B2B because all I could think about was "sexy bad kitty wearing a cream puff bonnet".... but sadly, my skin did not like it...I did get seduced into buying Love & would Love to hear your thoughts on it!

  • @redbloodedwoman1179 There's a heckuva lot going on in B2B, and the powderiness doesn't sit right with everyone. Love is a beautiful vanilla meringue and woods scent. It's pretty irresistible. And more accessible than B2B (more people would be inclined to enjoy smelling it on you). You made a great choice.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells YES-the powder! It was horrid on me! Thanks for your reply! (and I am wearing the Love now and sniffing myself compulsively...I'm addicted!). Cheers!

  • Honeysuckle

  • @eibose12 mmmm...

  • These all sound so deliciously yummy, expecially that bath oil

Just a quick question, what stores do you go to where you can recieve/beg for samples? Thank you! ;)

  • @Alovesphotos Most regular dept stores are loaded up on samples when a new perfume first comes out, because the company supplies them with the promotional vials.

Otherwise, your best bets in the US are Sephora and Nordstrom, who will very nicely custom-make samples of whatever you want. (I'm not sure which stores will do this in Canada.)

Also, some websites like LuckyScent will send samples of niche perfumes for a small fee.

  • Finally, some fragrance companies offer free samples on their websites - Womanity(dot)com is doing this now.

  • I love BB Orange essence cleaner too:)

Your skin looks amazing what products do you use?If you don't mind sharing your skincare routine:)

  • @makeupcreator That's a nice compliment!

At night: Pond's Cold Cream for removing eye makeup, Cetaphil for general cleansing. Trish McEvoy Beauty Booster Serum (a recent treat) followed either by Fresh Elixir Ancienne (a face oil) or whatever sample of a night creme I have lying around.

For day: No. 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Beauty Serum and Kiehl's Abyssine Cream SPF 23. Or if I'm going to be outside a lot, La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF 60.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells I have to try the Fresh Elixir it sounds interesting.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • Hey Katie, i really find vanilla and like spicy sents conforting. Do you have any perfumes that come to mind with thoses sents? thanks :)

  • There is something about Daphne I wasn't even sure I liked it but then I could not say I didn't.And then the scent lingered and I would think about Daphne and your right my mother is in that bottle.I must get that one day.Now I want to try Amouage you mentioned and Back to Black they sound amazing.I also beg for samples glad to know I am not the only one.LOL

  • @SayItLoud19 I felt EXACTLY the same as you about Daphne. I dismissed it at first, and then couldn't stop sniffing and "mmm-ing" at the lingering smell.

  • Twang ..;)

Oud - mmm.. all that work up to raunch (those tropical white flowers as well)...and saffron really is a dry heat wave....montale cozying up to heat :o

My first (fist enhanced twang) blind, however not deaf, buy has been pure pleasure.

Thank you so much Katie, for recommending this comfort (not that sitting is an option) fragrance...now to work the exchange rate and look at by killian

  • @macgr3g Oh, you got the White Aoud? While you're investigating By Kilian, check out their newest one, Rose Oud, that hits that rose/oud/saffron nexus of White Aoud, but with less powder and more wet fruitiness. It's my latest craze, and if you click on the "website" button on the front page of this channel, it will bring to you my blog postings on the subject.

  • Sexy, bad kitty, you!!

  • Hi Katie, I listen to a lot of your reviews. Im from the Philippines. Its so much fun learning from you. Even though I dont smell those perfumes, your description says a lot. You are beautiful and got a lot of class. Your work fits your personality. Thanks for sharing.

  • @honeypie1207 What a kind remark! Thank you.

  • I love the burt's bees orange essence facial cleanser! It smells just like oranges and is beautiful!

  • katie can you tell me the 5 perfumess that every woman should have , thank you

  • hello, katie! i am new at your channel...you are reaaaaally great and your happy and enthusiastic reviews make me happy too... but i must admit that lots of fragrances you recommend or smell and talk about are not available in my country (greece) :((( anyway, i like your channel, i loooove your ...house? is this from your house? and your reviews are always illuminative and unique!!

  • @bibiko77 So kind of you - thanks! Yep, my "set" is my house. It's actually my dining room/slash office - I move the table/desk out of the way and put my "perfume chair" in its place.

  • katie I discovered your videos a while ago and I gotta say I'm definitely hooked. You have become my go-to girl before purchasing my perfumes, lol. As far as my favorite comforting fragrance I recently came across a small sample tube of Flower by Kenzo. It's mostly floral but kind of soothing oriental floral.I don't know how to explain it. It's also very light, which I love. I'm so in love with the smell that I have started to put it on before bed. Is that weird?

  • @jessdominikel140 Well, as someone who ALWAYS wears perfume to bed (why not have gorgeously fragranced dreams?), I've never thought there was anything weird about it. But I guess that's because I wear scent for my own pleasure, not for other people or as a fashion accessory.

And Flower is such a beguiling perfume. There are all those nice Flower spin-offs to enjoy, too: Flower Oriental and Flower Winter.

    Glad you're digging my vids!

  • My favorite comfort scent (at the moment) is Power by Kenzo. I know exactly what you mean by "magical animal tummy smell" and I LOVE it!

  • @ModderRhu87 That is a comforting one.

  • My favourite comforting scent is Lush's Honey I washed the kids solid perfume. In the pot it's kind of sharp, but on the skin it is wonderful. Warm, comforting, honey-toffee-sweet and orange-fresh! I love it!

  • @Mia6505 You made that sound so good!

  • hey katie, is there anyway you can review the kim k. scent, don't know if you already did, but since you are the scents diva, i love your choice of wording when describing the notes in the fragrance...

  • @3layerzdeep You're in luck - I do have a review up for Kim Kardashian. Pop the name in the search box and it'll come up.

  • I don't actually have 7 comforting scents but these do the trick for me:

    Comme des Garcons 2 EDP

    L'eau Par Kenzo for women

    Fahrenheit Dior

    Bvlgari Soir

  • @trapperxzw That's such an interesting, eclectic group of scents.

  • I havent' bought real perfume yet. But ill probably try Dzing! and/or Encens Flambloyant....but I might get addicted :P

  • @Cr4zYH3aD There are so many amazing smells out there - perfume is like an entire world in a bottle.

  • wow, I really want to try " By Kilian Back to Black" now !

    Sounds so nice!

  • @SnowFairy05 It's incredible!

  • My total comfort scent is Jalaine Amber. OMG, it is divine. Wear it to bed and awaken to the most wonderful warm scent!!

  • @Juliduck I shall look into that one. I think amber scents are just about the most nuzzly, comforting sniffs around.

  • Instead of sleeping with a pointy fragrance strip, why not just spray some on your pillow? A softer sniff awaits!

  • @ALPHADELTACAPPA Har. But then I'm committed to the smell on my pillow, and I like to sleep with a different fume every night. I get around.

  • I'm really out of the category, but my favorite comfort scent is rain. Plain old rain.

Do you know any perfume that captures, or rather emulates, that smell?

  • @KnightsofEmerald Rain is a great smell. Demeter have 2 rain smells, Rain and Thunderstorm. They are billed as "pick me up sprays", and don't last longer than 30 minutes, but they really do smell like the names on the bottles.

  • @KnightsofEmerald definitely try thunderstorm from the Demeter line - it's spookily accurate. The candle is really good too. I might also suggest Black March from the CB I Hate Perfume range, that's got a really, wet, earthy rain smell too. Check out the Poem Black March by Stevie Smith - that was the inspiration for the scent.

  • My gosh;;

    Everytime i see your videos,

I cant help but to smile.

    Your such a happy personn(:

  • @fluffypenguin11 I can feel your smile from here!

  • Could I ask for some suggestions, if possible? I love oceanic scents,I know, I know, they don't have much depth, they are a bit one-note, and sharp and chemical, but they work for me. I used to wear men's perfumes more, as they had the 'cleanest' feel to them, but they got too sharp even for me, I felt I was dousing myself with aftershave at times. Any suggestions for good oceanic scents for women?

  • @pinelopi1979 A mainstream oceany one I like is Kenzo pour Homme. But you should hunt down these 2 sublime niche perfumes:

The Different Company Sel de Vetiver

    L'Artisan Parfumeur Cote d'Amour

Both were created by the same parfumer, Celine Ellena, and both are beautiful and unusual takes on salty ocean air with dry florals.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells They sound divine, I'll definitely try to hunt them down, thank you for the advice!

  • @pinelopi1979 you can try Acqua by Emilio Pucci, this is kind of expensive but it really does remind me of being at the beach and smelling the ocean. Also Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue, I have used 2 bottles of those and it really is a water-ish scent.

  • how does chergui compare to back to black?

  • @flexwheelR While both feature tobacco, B2B is much more confectionary-sweet than Chergui, which is more spicy and vegetal. Chergui has a pipe-tobacco kind of sweetness to it.

Go to my blog, KatiePuckrikSmells dot c o m, for an in-depth dance-off between the 2 on one of my "Perfume Pen Pals" entry.

  • Weekend by Burberry has become a favorite of mine within the last couple of years. It's not overpowering and seems to stay with me for at least half of the day before having to reapply. I absolutely love it. Hypnotic Poison by Christian Dior is another favorite. Great for evening wear. My last choice would be Coco Chanel. I have my mother to thank for that one!

  • Off topic... but what is the lip color you are wearing? Is it this season's hot cult lipstick called Chris and Tell by Lancome? Also, the Terry Balm de Rose you mentioned in another video is a nice product, how are you liking it? I use mine at bed time and it keeps the lips hydrated.

  • I'm actually wearing a lipgloss in this vid: Bobbi Brown Petal. The colors in the vid are not accurate to life, because they kind of morph depending on people's individual computers. I looked up Chris and Tell, and like you say, it's hot all right! So hot that it seems to be sold out. I read that MAC Full Stop Red is similar.

But I'm a huge fan of coral hued lip colors. Just got one I love called Satin, by Chanel Coco Rouge. Chanel Rouge Allure Remarkable is great, too.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Well, from the swatch I came across the BB gloss in Petal looks to be a good dupe for the Chris and Tell, so you are right on trend aren't you? I had to buy my two tubes of the Lancome C&T off of eBay (ouch) as it sold out faster than ice water in that brimstone place. Mac Pink Lemonade gloss is said to be a good dupe as is Mac Costa Chic (applied lightly).

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Costa Chic being pretty darn close to the C&T. I also agree that the Mac Full Stop Red looks similar to the C&T which is a creamy peachy pink coral, but the name is a misnomer... red?

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Comfort Scents - for starters...

    .Original Chaos (not the relaunch)

    .Black Cashmere

    .Raintree lotion original fragrance

.Clairol Herbal Essence Shampoo, the emerald original

    .Chanel 5

.Grey Flannel Geoffrey Beene, found it in a Belgium PX and as it was not marketed as a men's fragrance, how was I to know? I wore it and still like it a lot... takes me back to A Flock of Seagulls time dimension.

  • @coolblueswim "and I ran-n-n, I ran so far away-ay-ay.."

I actually ordered some Clairol Herbal Essence Shampoo a few years ago to relive th magic (it came from the Philippines, the only place it's still made), and made the mistake of washing my hair in it. Whoops - instant thatched roof instead of hair!

  • @coolblueswim I keep my Baume de Rose right here next to my computer. I just keep slathering it on all day long. Love the smell and the feel.

  • My comfort scent is Burts Bees Peppermint & Rosemary Body Bar. It's so invigorating!

  • fire and cotton candy

  • @HasinaHORROR Ohhhhh...those are GREAT smell selections! And there's actually a perfume that has a bit of both of those in it called Un Bois Vanille by Serge Lutens.

  • Thank You! :D I'm am going to search for that perfume

  • I like the scent of orange too. sometimes I eat a tangerine and take a nap with my nose on the peels!

  • @Tarafiyed That's funny!

  • For some strange reason, fire and ice is my comfort perfume. Brings me back to high school when everyone liked me and actually called me back :)

  • @tessa696 Well, now you know what perfume to wear to your class reunion!

  • Your outfit in this is really pretty and colorful!

  • @xostarsandhearts Well, thank you!

  • My favorite comforting scents are Burberry, Chloe, and one that you mentioned Tea Rose. All of these make me feel better in different ways.

Burberry- because to me its warm and sweet

Chloe- because when I wear it, I feel pretty

Tea Rose- Reminds me of my grandmothers and her rose garden.

  • @livegorgeouslygreen Is that the Burberry Classic you're referring to? I love that one...

  • KT - what's your favorite Cognac based or heavily noted perfume?

  • @dazigg I don't know if cognac's involved, but I do really like By Kilian Straight to Heaven, which has a boozy quality. Oh, and Lubin Idole is another tantalizing boozy/labdanum scent, on the sweeter side.

My current favorite perfume with deep notes is Amouage Epic Man. That one is so dense and involving.

Do you have faves in this department?

  • Believe it or not, after a hard day I love the aroma of anything with our or frankinsence. Especially the resin incense! Amouage tribute attar is my absolute favorite of their line. Dark and smoky, it's a true ode to the middle east!

  • @nadaboom Oh, I just love frankincense and oud! Pretty much anything from Amouage's line of attars is absolutely mesmerizing. Tribute is that lovely tobacco one - I've smell it! Sooooo nice.

  • hey i have the same shirt. not the silk tank top but the other one in mauve.

i like honey as an adult now too in my tea also.

im not sure what my comfort scent is. but i agree certain scents take u back. like when i smell my grandmothers perfu, my best friends perfume, or even the one i used to wear all the time as a teenager.

but why is it so many men wear polo? as soon as i smell it i think of all the guys who wore polo all the way back to college.

  • @tranquilbluesky The guys who choose Polo probably don't make a point of noticing scents in their life, whether cologne or cooking or nature smells. They're most likely conforming to a social expectation that guys should smell good, and they just buy the first thing that they've heard of. Once you start to really pay attention to smells, you realize that it's more interesting to wear something that expresses something about yourself.

  • hey i bought a perfume called tocca cleopatra. they sell it at sephora & anthropologie. have you smelled it? what do u think of it? i love it. but it reminds me of something.

  • @tranquilbluesky Cleopatra's interesting because it starts off very clean with that grapefruit, then gets deeper and warmer with the patchouli as it goes on. It's a different take on a "clean" scent.

  • @KatiePuckrik Yes I love it. One of my male friends said it smells musky. Hm, thats interesting it has grapefruit and patchouli in it.

i like your polo response btw. i kind of want to send that to my new ex and be like "on top of being a jerk, youre so unoriginal, man. see?. " :)

yea i think guys should not use polo. isnt it strange guys are just into that one fragrance, but women have millions.

  • Oh, I just remembered! Organix Coconut Milk Conditioner (the shampoo smells just as good, but I don't like it for my hair, just the conditioner) OMG, I LOVE when I rinse it out and the scent sticks to my hair. It's like a warm, milky, kinda fruity blanket on my head. When I catch a whiff of it my eyes flutter and I even salivate a bit, I wish I could drink the bottle! I think I have a problem... lol

  • i love the teatree mint one. it smells like im putting a big box of girl scout thin mint cookies on my head.
