I have much love for my fellow gun owners. But it seems that on youtube they are very likely to jump on people making gun videos. Maybe it is the nature of being a man, I don't know. But, we either hang together or we will hang separately. The NRA is one avenue that we all can use to advance the cause. And we should all use it. Even if we use others as well.

Folks, Ronnie Barrett , just like James Yeager, is a rock solid pro-secondamendment pro constitution guy who has shown to ANYONE that he has what it takes to stand up to govt. for our rights like when he refused to sell his .50 cal. rifles to the govt. in Commiefornia and other related things. Vote for Barrett for the board of NRA. MEANWHILE, don't forget GOA, and JPFO/Jews for Preservationof Firearm Ownership, and you do not have to be Jewish to be a member. I'm a member and I'm Christian.

The NRA is the top gun owner org in the country and they understand the politics of DC and your state, they understand the need to wheel and deal a little to gain an inch at a time and eventually get the whole yard.

GOA and other state clubs like Gun Owners of NH are very good also, I would love to see GOA affiliate themselves with the NRA and pool some resources manpower and VOTES together, having 2 National orgs fighting together for gun owners.

More Voters/members=more power

I'm not so sure electing gun makers for positions in the NRA. Granted Barrett is far from a Bill Ruger, and the things that would pop up would generally be things he'd be strongly be against. (Like .50 bans) but you should be really careful so that manufactures don't just let laws pass because the bans don't include them.

Agree! If you are not involved and letting people in the NRA know what you want and are willing to stand up, and put up - time and money and effort - don't whine. Nothing changes until you do!

Same problem with everything these days. "Oh the NRA hates us lets go start a new organization" "The Republican Party isn't Conservative enough lets go start this" For Christ sake it's countless times harder to start from the ground up than it is to amend current parties/organizations. Have a problem with the GOP or the NRA let 'em know about it. Don't pull all this "they don't care" bullshit get the hell out there and do something!

It is true that without the NRA, we'd be like England or worse. However, the "compromise" approach is leading us toward the same end, just at a much slower pace. If that's all they can do for now, it's better than nothing. Hold the line & fend them off. In the meantime, each & everyone of us MUST fight the culture-war. You do that by bringing NEW shooters to the range & sport. When they fall in love and get hooked, they'll realize what they always had but never knew, & what they stand to lose.

Bringing new shooters to the range is VERY important. I volunteer my time to teach Scouts, Scout Leaders and 4-H youth groups how to safely have fun with a firearm.

This is very true, I was dating a girl before she knew me, she was scared of guns ALOT and very politically inactive and I was able to influence her to not be as intimidated by firearms and to be alot more politically active. Get out there and teach and talk to people, and BE a leader, don't wait for someone else to do it.

If not for the NRA our gun rights would have been gone long ago. Because of the pro-active lobby of the NRA and it's millions of members, they're not coming after us now. Imagine the power we would have with TWICE the membership! WOW! Think about it! Our predecessors physically fought and died for our rights and WE..You and Me! WE MUST TAKE LEGAL PROACTIVE ACTION TO PRESERVE THEM! There are very serious forces who will stop at nothing to strip us of our rights if we don't fight. JOIN THE NRA!

You know, I don't disagree with what's being said here one bit - but I think that rather than join the NRA (or I should say "in addition to joining the NRA") perhaps we should work harder at not electing people into office that are so contrary to our goals... just a thought.
