i know right nothing like childhood memories, once serpressed. every once in awhile i go back to the anime and wantch it over and over again. just becuse anime is not wat it us to be
I just recently remembered watching this show like 10 years ago or whenever it was Toonami was airing it, so I torrented it; and when the credits on the first episode started rolling I got hit by a nostalgia train.
Thank you very much for tabbing this. Not too many things you can do for a person that are better than reconnecting them to their childhood.
great job. this is one of my favorite songs from the series. I like that they used it in an episode where melfina sings it. It's a beautiful song, and I think you covered it quite nicely. I can feel the same emotion in the song just as much as the original, if not more due to the choice of instrument.
@chelsearare Actually yes! No one else has ever figured that out. When i was a kid, I didnt know that his name was spelld "Gilliam" so I just spelled it however i thought. It looks cooler than Gilliam and has that "spacey" feel. Outlaw Star was my favorite anime as a kid, and still is up there with the others I watch. So the name is indeed a reference to my favorite character from the show, even if I DID spell it wrong. So I've kept it all these years because I like the name and character.
Ok, so I wasn't just being over observant in connecting the two together then lol. This anime definitely is one of the best out there. It's short, but sweet. Kinda makes you miss the days when cartoons shown on TV were actually worth watching.
@chelsearare Definitely. Toonami was awesome and needs its own channel. Outlaw Star was referenced throughout Toonami airing. That's gotta mean something if Tom is still saying "Pogawa Som P'fa" during Toonami's final days during the intro. Again. Kudos on the work. You're the only person to date to have made the connection without me needing to explain it. That's totally awesome.

You know, there's a web site you can use to transcribe sheet music and it's free.
catdemonninja 1 year ago
I try to learn most songs by ear and then I create sheet music and a tab to go along with it later if I feel like it haha.

@chelsearare I figured, but I thought you should know about noteflight, because it makes transcribing easier once you've learned it by ear.

Thank you. I loved when Melfina sang it, especially in Japanese, not that the English was bad haha.
Just out of curiosity, is your username supposed to be some kind of reference to the show? At first glance I thought it actually did say Gilliam haha.
