  • You're fast.

  • These guys have mastered great speed.

  • Ztawiz......... You're so wrong. I never comment on any video but I just can't help on this one, jkd is mixture of Wing chun and 12 Lu tan tui, and some other things.....

  • I learned wing chun then Jeet Kune Do so I won't have any problems with my punching or blocking.

  • I love how everyone knows all about Bruce Lee.... lol

  • @DeanPMA Yea lot of crazy fans out there!!!!! LOL!!

  • You guys talk as if you are martial artists.

You are not, first you are a street fighter.

Than you become martial artists. You cannot do it the other way around.

Stop with the base from so and so art. Use what works.

  • Bruce Lee ABANDONED wing chun becouse he lost confidence in it. As soon as he discovered JKD, he closed his schools becouse he didnt want to teach Gung Fu anymore, he had lost confidence in that as well. You dont need WC, Gung Fu or anything else to learn JKD. Thats like learning to ride a horse before you get your drivers licience, a waste of time.

There is not a trace of JKD in this clip. Read Bruce Lees books and you´ll see.

  • @ztawiz Bruce did not loose confidence in Wing Chun. Actually he used the base of that style and applied it to bare knuckle boxing.. all the base of JKD comes from Wing Chun... Bruce just realized that pure Wing Chun is good for ancient times, when people had less knowledge and it was enough to do with Chun techniques... modern reality needs to be modernized to match current dynamics in fights...

  • @div545 THats just BS, Bad Science. Bruce Lee wrote a letter to Taky Kimura telling him that he had "lost faith in the traditional arts". The On GUard Position is not based upon Wing Chun, its based upon human anatomy and the laws of physics. Wing Chun is worthless now that we have JKD, just like the horse and wagon is worthless when you have a car. It has served its purpose as a steppingstone in the evolution of martial arts and is to be discarded.

  • @ztawiz bruce blended principles of several arts & spent many sessions experimenting w/out wing chun ,he found that all jkd way less effective w/out wing chun u only have a small peice of the puzzle & u can ask dan inosanto ,or james demille they were both there while bruce was creating all jkd

  • @stovall1231 Bruce didnt blend anything. JKD is not a mixture of something else, it is a style all its own. He abandoned WIng Chun because of its uselessness.

Dan Insosanto? He was an instructor but he didnt even spar. I dont belive in teachers that claim to know a style but cant preform it. I met Ted Wong and he was the real deal, he didnt teach wing chun. He tought JKD.

Its sad to see that people still cling to the traditional arts. Do like Bruce Lee: Abandon them altogether.

  • had to play this video twice the guy was so freakin fast

  • I suggest you all take a look at Dragon: Bruce Lee Story. Within the first 10 minutes. You'll see "Bruce" (the person who plays Bruce lee in the movie is Actually His Son) being taken by his father to a man. take a good look at the man ( Yip Man). And you will see "Yip Man" And Bruce Doing the first few moves of the Si lim tau (1st form of Wing Chun)

  • @MartialKnowledge Jason Scott Lee is not Bruce Lee's son. where did u get that? Bruce had 2 children. Brandon and Shannon.

  • someone knows the jkd lineage of master Wong?

  • To reply to your statement regarding bruces focuses towards the end... I believe they were distance timing counter beats and cadence... mirroring in terms of fighting science the moment being created by the individual and there intent whilst having non intention..... I believe they were at the core of his focus and he was not at all concerned with the mear centre line theories etc.... bruces intercepting fist is actually intercepting heart.. in regards to reading intent prior to action becoming

  • The fundamentals of JKD are not founded in Wing Chun at all..... They are founded inside the art of individual... it is about stripping away all mental conditioning and all matter of tradition in order to encourage the essential being and the original nature.... The individual is the focus of JKD the style is irrelevant the system of the individual will be revealed when all forms of conditioning have been released from the mind.... cheers...

  • bom...bom..bom...este tio se emocia jajajaja

  • This guy understands JKD very well since he also does training in Wing Chun. Trying to learn JKD without first having some decent Wing Chun training is like building a house without a good foundation. It may look nice from a distance, but it's not structurally sound and it won't hold up when tested. All the core principles of JKD are from Wing Chun. Once you understand that, things can be modified while still maintaining those principles.

  • I agree to a sense but your statement is not completely accurate. Now, before we get into some youtube battle, i also think Master Wong is very talented but what he is doing here in not really JKD, at least not Sijo's JKD. The WC element was very strong in the beginning (the Jun Fan) era. but it was not as strong in the JKD era. (68 to 73) Sijo got away from alot of WC elements. I also love Wing Chun and I think it is crucial but it will not work in every structure all time. Sijo Learned this!

  • It's true that classical Wing Chun will not work in every situation. That's where the modifications come in. But in Wing Chun, we are taught that it's more about strategy and principles than technique. My Sigung at the Wing Chun school told me that the most important concepts in Wing Chun are centerline, straight line attacks, and intercepting/redirecting attacks. Bruce Lee always did this right up to the end.

  • @hulkout666 Guys, This man understand JKD not for doing WC, but for thinking not in systems. If you mix your flavor and do what works for you no matter what art it comes from thats JKD phylosophy. JKD is no style! Trust me...It really isnt!

  • @hulkout666 YEAH RIGHT. Look at bruce lee's last few movies and see that his fighting is NOTHING like wing chun. I have never done a day of wing chun in my life and i consider myself a good jkd fighter.

  • @hulkout666 Bruce's understanding of Wing Chun from a early age is very important. He learn that in a real life situation what works and what doesn't work in WIng Chun. He created JKD so that it consist of what's useful in Wing Chun and also tying aspects from other martial arts like fencing, wrestling, and boxing and cutting out the unnecessary parts. Why waste your time learning Wing Chun, when the legendary Bruce Lee spent time and effort to put everything together in manual called JKD.

  • @jackylin24 JKD was Bruce's finished product afters years of figuring out what worked best for him. But he taught everyone Jun Fan first, which is slightly modified Wing Chun. All his first generation students will back this up. You had to graduate to JKD only after you did Jun Fan. He knew that you had to have that foundation first. Nowadays, all the third and fourth generation students go right into JKD without having proper structure and foundation. It's just not the same.

  • @hulkout666 wing chung is not a strong foundation please go fight a boxer or grappler and tell me you have a good foundation

  • @hulkout666 That's not entirely accurate. If some has basic kickboxing and boxing understanding they will have a smooth transition into JKD.

  • all the moves are indeed comin from wing chun. and bruce lee also learned wing chun.

  • sieht prima aus, aber leider habe ich noch nie jemanden getroffen, bei dem dieser weiche chisau kram funktioniert hat-und ich hab schon mit so einigen wt spezies gesparrt.

  • 0:32 nice ^^
