There are some rules you should follow before using paypal.NEVER provide paypal with your social security number no matter what. They might ask for it but it won't get your account re-instated. Iny my opinion paypal has no business to ask for your SSN. They are not a bank so providing them your SSN is of no benefit to you.. Also do not provide paypal with purchase invoices or any other crap they might ask for. The third most important thing when setting up a PP acct is use a business name.
Paypal has been great for me however I am dissapointed with their stance on electronic cigarettes and e liquid. Only sites from overseas (Non U.S.) seem to be able to get away with using paypal while others will bee dropped.
Paypal is convenient for online payments like on eBay and such. But if you can use your credit card online, I would rather do that. Paypal should NOT be anyone's primary banking outlet. There are REAL banks out there.
I refuse to use paypal unless it's forced on me by some merchant or commissioned artwork where the artists demands I use it. I consider paypal criminals even if they are getting away with it. I almost lost 2k USD because they said my account was performing suspicious activity. I contacted my bank who demanded they allow a withdraw. From then on i keep my money in the bank and use paypal to relay money ONLY. They are not to be trusted.
I remember that paypal got their twitter account hacked many times, but personally I never had a problem with them but I dont use it that often at all and I use amazon mostly for online purchases with credit card
i might get insulted for this but a yr 1/2 ago my pc was hacked into and my bank account info was of course stolen and some asshole used it and actually opened a pay pal account useing my name and more i tryed to get intouch with pay pal but got no where and my bank TDBank which fucken sucks didnt belive me at all when i tryed to disputes charges and more long story short i dont trust let alone would use pay pal as well totally hate tdbank i advise any of you to stay away from this bank
Its not that easy to use the feedback system, that's why many people get scammed on Ebay.
I got scammed a few times and than once I understood the feedback+200 per page+history, I was less likely to be scammed. If you buy bigger items, "buy new" on Amazon, they have item ratings as well.
Its always good to be smart with your money especially if its going to go online. Nether the less i will still keep using paypal, ive never had any problems with the service. the trick is to keep your money in the bank instead :)
I would be careful @lockergnome if they are that ruthless they may go after you for pointing out their ruthlessness! I hope thats not the case but it would not surprise me it sounds like they are known for this type of thing.
He was happy to refund the customers and was willing to do so after they had returned the products. However this took time and in the meantime, Paypal had already reimbursed them meaning Paypal were out of pocket, however he had not received the products so did not refund them. So, because of this, Paypal shut his account permanently, and worse, shut all of his family's personal accounts permanently, when we had nothing to do with it, as they believe it is 'risky' as he can use our accounts. 2/2
Paypal is awful. I was a long serving customer who abided by the rules. However, my brother started dropshipping (basically a middle man, sold products for suppliers but never physically had the item in his possession), there were a lot of problems with buyers wanting refunds or the item was faulty etc, and without listening to his side of the story, they would just reimburse these buyers, even when my brother had not yet had the product returned! Continued.... (1/2)
PayPal sucks but in the long run they did my a favour since then I've no longer been scammed, I've made seller accounts on other store fronts and been making money just fine in fact I've been enjoying the experience on selling by other means. Yes the stuff takes longer to sell but the fees are much clearer laid out and I don't need to spent time taking photos and setting up whole pages for items to sell. banned because I transfered two large sums to a friend who lives an hour bus ride from me!
I KNOW that majority of these SO CALLED RULES that PayPal has set in place will not hold up in court. As long as the Judge is not a complete idiot. Some rules are not rules and have no legal weight what so ever. NOW don't threaten them over the phone or in an e-mail. but if you seriously feel wronged in anyway. Contact an Civilian Attorney AND your local District Attorney. Cause this is a serous matter that can fall under the legalities of larceny and fraud. Both of which are very serious.
I wish I had seen this a couple months ago. Over a $5 mishap, they have had my account locked out for 70+ days. Google Wallet or Amazon Checkout is absolutely the way to go. I'm serious that over $5 this happened. The customer service was not helpful at all either. "There's nothing you can do about it." It's true, beware of Paypal.
For starters i think people who "stockpile" money on an online service like thats a fool, right, you said that, only thing i use paypal for are ebay and some other miscellaneous websites as a tool instead of leaving credit cards. Dont whine about it, if you dont like it, dont use it and once again, only retards would have theyre main source of income go straight into paypal. You cant know theyre not breaching terms less its your company, theyre gonna tell you theyre being wronged regardless.
Surely Paypal can do it because you sign up voluntarily and tick the "i have read the user agreement" box (which you haven't). If you read any 500 page terms and conditions section I'm sure they contain very similar seemingly harsh rules they would almost never enforce. As Chris puts it though "play by the rules" and you won't get done.
I lost about a grand from paypal when I ordered something custom built and the maker took over the max refund period to send me garbage and they turned down all my claims even though I hadn't even seen the item yet!
YouTube is similar in that they cut people's accounts without warning nor explanation for any reason or no reason. I even know a YouTube Partner who had this happen and she never was able to get her channel back nor even find out why it was terminated.
paypal is good coz every one uses it just like face book and youtube

They wont shut you down because YOU ARE POPULAR
If you complain, your opinion reaches far across the internet.
So they are cautious when it comes to you.
PayPal loves to fuckup the average joe - because they know they can get away with it.
