What about all of us that used to VHS music videos from MTV or BET and movies, fights, ect from HBO or Showtime then passed them around the neighborhood and to our family members to enjoy? If they were not making $ off copyrighted info they would not have gotten in trouble. The timing led a lot of people to believe it was just censorship but the story goes much deeper. If YOU produced something, copyrighted it, you made little to no $, but someone took it and made loads of $ off it, would you think that is right?

It would have redefined 'drug' to include food and herbs and 'sell' to include' give to one or more persons', meaning that if , say, mint was outlawed, you would be charged with selling drugs if you grew it and gave your husband a cup of mint tea. It didn't pass because of public opinion.

if they don't want their copyrighted material to be copied/downloaded and to prevent "file sharing," then all they have to do is encrypt "non-copy" computer codes into their material...so copyright material can't be copied/downloaded in the first place. it is the copyright holder/owner's responsibility to keep their material protected...not the internet's or government's responsibility.

When did the FBI become the Security for Hollywood anyway, that really is not any of their business, its not like movie sales are taking a dump they are breaking records every month, its most likely because the people who would never go see or pay for the movie watched it and told friends who did go pay and buy the movie. I think it gives them more business not less, I will still never go to the movies or buy one. NEVER EVER, cable is a big enough rip off.
