Your video does not get any exposure, and it should. I'm still out here alive. I watch your video every few weeks. I have 2 grown daughters, & I always wonder how they feel.
wow, i am astonished at your notes. thank you for writing. yes, my mom is still alive, and no, she has never recovered. my sister and i are now her guardians and we have her under basic care, at least. that is a big change, and we are very grateful for it. she refuses treatment, though, and that is heartbreaking.
i wish you all the best, and i hope we can keep in touch, hope
I am so thankful to have found this video. I am a Mother of 3, & I am very close to my grown daughter of whom I hope this can help express what I cannot say.
thanks for showing this-glad u put it up. it shows what an ED can/will do if taken into motherhood.
its hearbreaking to hear your mother had shock-treatment & didnt recieve help for anorexia.
your mothers had anorexia for many years so i can understand that the woman u see is more anorexia then your mum. its like part of you dulls when the EDs there.
my words arent false ive had eating problems since 8yo, developed anorexia 16yo. im now 23 and have bulimia but working diligently to recover
hello and thanks! really!i think; to realise that your own mom has this kind of problems, and to realise that there is absolutly nothing you can do to help her; its her life. thats hard to accept and thats a hard thing to live with as a doughter. I know. My mom has another disorder. thinkin of U and your mom! best wishes for your mom.(sorry if its seems like grazy, im from finland living in sweden. tanya
i was moved to tears when i watched this. im so sorry you and your mum and family have been through such a struggle. i have and ed and have so for about 4 years and am in treatment, so its relating, which i thankyou for. it was a truely beautiful and stirring video, thankyou. x
Thank you for sharing such a personal video with the public. I was moved to tears upon watching this - feeling so much empathy for you and your Mom. I am sorry your family has suffered through your Mother's lifelong ed struggle. (i've been in treatment for 20 years for an ed - can't even imagine trying to have a family of my own!) In sharing this, you may help others better understand their own loved ones' struggles as well. Thank you. Debbie
you're welcome, debbie. i can't say that i intended to share this with anyone else besides my classmates, who i had to show it to, and my mother, for whom i made it. now that it has taken on a life of its own, i am amazed and honored by its effects not only on my own family but on the community of families of those with eating disorders and mental illness. thank you right back, your words are such an encouragement, hope
