i like blur and oasis, but i've got to say that damon is a musical genius, he's written songs which vary in style to the extreme, and had amazing success, rightly so. he's evolved from just britpop, or rock and role, and proved himself to be one of the greatest musicians of our time, be it with blur, gorillaz or countless others

Oasis're better than Blur. The proof : Blur's fans are always trying to compare Blur with Oasis. Read the comments on Oasis'videos : they never speak about Blur, or just briefly, as a short episode of the band. Blur's a good band from the nineties, probably the best from this little movement called "britpop". Oasis, as they always said, are out of this movement, they're still popular today, they'd have success in any period. They're out of time. And Oasis are better in melodies and in rocknroll.

Oasis went in a direction where they started out as an arena band, and got more and more "arena" as they went (kind of like the smashing pumpkins), while blur started out as an intensely "brit" sounding band in the tradition of "brit" bands, but as time went on sounded more and more like american indie.
problem is with oasis they got more and more distorted music.they lost alot of melody.their music became so distored you couldnt hear the melody anymore.they were fine when they started out for like their first 2 or 3 albums but after that it wasnt any good no more
koolerking obviously doesnt listen to enough oasis. i love blur but to say oasis is doing the same thing is completely wrong. theyve grown up with their music. for example you couldnt find a drum loop on their first 3 albums now the tunes are completely different. however blur is great and beetlebum is a great song

Many people thought that oasis were the talented ones. This song, and the way both damon and graham went on to make amazingly different music proves this wrong. These days oasis are basically pushing out the same stuff and blur has won the bigger battle. Perfect song that is timeless.
one of THE best songs of our genration. In the mid 90's when there was brit pop, the media was pitting oasis and blur together. It was a north/south divide and for one week blur won the number one single slot. Oasis's song was much better, blurs song was country house, which, lets face it, was a bit naff.
