I took IELTS on 20th last month, just 2 days preparation, I used your materials and I got an overall band score of 7!!! Listening - 8, Reading - 7 Writing - 6.5, Speaking - 6.5... I didn't prepare for writing and speaking.. Speaking score surprised me!! Cos I did quiet fine with that.. Examiner was really friendly and questions were based on traveling and hiking.. And I did well but got only 6.5..

A suggestion other exam takers: Prepare well 4 reading as u wont get enough time. " All D Best"

Mariem, last Thursday i had my firest IELTS Class..they teached us abt writting section....i have 3 more classes left...but i wanna know one thing, as u said it requires alot of practice..can u give me some tips abt it?? wht kind of Practice should i do to get v.good score so tht, it will be easy for me to take addmission in Good University..

First of all thank you for this info., I only knew about the TOEFL. But I have a couple of questions about the current TOEFL: I already did it, it happened 4 years ago and back then I got like 790 points or something like that. I've been looking through my manuals of english because I'd like to do it again, but It seems like it's a lil' harder. Do you think I can make it again, by reading my old manuals and speaking with some native folks? Thank you in advance Rebeca. Keep leaking good info.

Usually a slightly higher score is needed but

there may be some colleges or universities that accept a 5.5 or 6. I can't say. You would have to check with the individual university. It also depends what subject you want to take as your major in university.

Remember that it's not just about getting into a foreign university but about succeeding in your studies once you get there, without going crazy!

oh my God! you have not just problems with reading, also you you have problems in writting.

I suggest you read..read..and write and write from newspapers..practice, and enrich your vocabulary with a decent dictionary. I am from Peru and I am trying . Good Luck! and congrats you like a associate in learning ESL.
