a brushed motor has two contacts on the shaft so it can spin, a brushless doesn't have these contacts which improves the motor a lot but requires a brushless speed control
not so sure about your explation but a better explantion would be; the difference between a brushed and brushless is that a brushed motor has graphite brushes that are charged with electricity and sweep along comutators and only has two contacts + and - but a brushless motor has an electronically controlled commutation system, instead of a mechanical commutation system based on brushes also there are +, - and pole position contacts on a brushless motor and hall sensors but not on small stuff
