Leviticus 19:28 would be the verse that comes up most often but when you look at the context, Israel at the time was moving into a new territory, Canaan, surrounded by pagans who tatted themselves for idols and that's why God warned them against it. I believe there is a second verse in Corinthians with the same idea. Tatoos would be common in pagan gentile nations and so Paul warned against them. There's no issue with it for modern Christians if the reason you truly have for getting one.

Christ said that dont think that HE came 2 destroy the law or the prophets but 2 fulfill it.. this is true, but i do believe that it is clear in scripture that the Lord cares what we do with our bodies, whether it's mutilation here or sexual immorality, sinning against our own bodies. our bodies are not our own, temples just as other users mentioned, for Christ's future determination of our resurrection.

What does tattoos being permanent have to do with weather they are right or wrong. Anything we do can have "permanent" impact (clothes, food, actions, piercings, tats) It's why we do what we do. A tattoo can glorify God, it can also dishonor him. Piercings can glorify God, they can also dishonor him. I'm just asking, what is it about tattoos that makes them improper bodily adornment.

honestly i think that tatoos don't make a difference to how much you love God and walking out your ourpose for him in life. I think that the generation of today will still do the will of God and we will doi with all types of non religion and traditional ways. We may come with dreds, tattoos, grills chains, ear peircings in etc.
Well guys, let me give you a little old testement history lesson. Tattoos in the old testement was a sign of slavery. Gods intention for the isrealites was that they would be free. These were not artistic markings either. They were brands. I believe that god wanted all the other nations to understand that the isrealites were no longer egyptians slaves, but free people. Yeah, I thought about getting a Cross Tattoo or a Verse on my Bicep, But as I was thinking about it. I was reminded of Leviticus 19:28

i think we have to go deeper and find the real meaning of tattoos who why when and were did it start..... i think if it doesnt have a holy origin then its not divine and its not a way of worship or praise for Our Lord Jehovah...do u agree? ...see the devil works in the most atracctive way making us think thats is not that bad or make sumthing bad look good i have 1 tattoo but i wont get any more write back bro...peace

I like your perspective too! =D Like I said I thought that way for a long time. I'll still probably never get a Tattoo even if it represents Christ. I do agree that Satan is trying to make worldly things look attractive!!! He soooo is!!! BUT, If you do it to glorify God... If your soul purpose for getting one was to help spread his word then I now think it could be ok sometimes. Thanks for the feedback! and yea no, I don't think Jesus would have a tattoo. lol

actually it's the last song on Trip Lee's first CD, the track had no title so I just named it 116 Anthem Freestyle it's got no hook, so that's what I came up with sorry for the mistake... It's still nice
