  • The ridiculous propaganda commercials on tv about cannabis are actually funded by alcohol and tobacco companies. The so-called 'Partnership for a Drug-Free America'.

  • Maher is totally right on the cannabis issue. What the fuck is Mos Def talking about?

  • Agreed. I haven't heard a coherent thought from Mr. Def so far.

  • I'm just suprised at his reaction to it because in so many of his songs he talks about cannabis in a positive light. And it's a part of hip-hop culture and stuff. & I've also heard him emulate Rastafarians in his songs. So I'd think that he knows more about it than what's indicated by his comments in this show, putting it in the context of alcohol and perverse forms of pornography. The truth about cannabis is that it's the most medicinal plant in existence. It's been proven to cure cancer

  • I'm not talking about smoking it though, I'm talking about extracting the essential oil from the buds and eating it. Everyone should watch a documentary called 'Run From the Cure'. Smoking has benefits but not as much medicinally as consuming this oil made from the plant with the same active ingredients. In the 70s the government did a study where they gave some rats huge tumors & then injected them with thc. It cured the cancer & the tumors went away. They then suppressed the study.

  • Run From the Cure is available to watch at this site by the way, just type the name into the search. Everything in the documentary about cannabis' healing abilities is backed up by clinical studies you can go look up with search engines. This stuff isn't highly publicized because the mainstream media is controlled by corporations & legalizing a plant that's essentially a cure-all would obliterate the multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical industry because they can't patent it unlike their drugs.

  • this show is for the least exposed and least educated people in America that have not a single clue as to what is happening. MOS DEF, you should stay away from that show, you are being exploited.

  • It is obviously a Masonic conspiracy.

  • sounds like you ,you smuck

  • Sorry 6:54

  • 6:44 Bill Maher exposes Mos Def asa Obama loyalist and then he thinks hes not caught because Mos Def says hes a skeptic apparently I think hes in denial

  • Haha -- Bin laden my ass.

  • LMFAO

    Look at 4:40

"WE BROKE SON! WE NEED SOME DOLLAS!"

  • We gotta handle New Orleans, Red River, the US infrastructure, public services, the environment, AIDS...

I mean, really, doesn't Obama have enough to do?

I think Obama was cool for even fielding the question of mj as the President. C'mon...what did you expect? Doesn't he have enough to do...then he has to deal with the stoners saying he ignored them and the prudes saying he shouldn't be into legalizing mj?

Boy...I agre with Salman Rushdie. Just let Obama run the damn country :)

  • actually from DAY 1, he's been the best President of my lifetime, if not of all time.

Lilly Ledbetter Act, lifted ban on stem cell research, meaningful&qualified appts to his cabinet (ie, nobel laureate scientist), signed international mercury reduction pact, closing of Gitmo, relaxed Cuba travel restrictions, phasing out military "stop-loss" forced retention, ended torture & extraordinary rendition, allowed states to set mpg fuel rules, expanded unemployment benefits...

    ran out of room! ;-)

  • VIVA OBAMA!

read his books, and spend equal time scouring the web for positive critiques as you do for negative. reality is generous with evidence to support nearly any view. To say Obama is doing a poor job, well that's just fucking retarded, frankly.

    peace to all!

  • Mos Def: "I'm a skeptic"

He's a skeptic about what the government tells him, which is great, but he's not skeptical when it comes to conspiracy theory bullshit. Some skeptic.

  • Well it's not a conspiracy theory that the mainstream media themselves reported that Bin Laden had died at the end of 2001. & since then they've just pretended like that never happened and continued to release videos that are supposedly of him but that don't look like him and are provably fake. That people who've written about Bin Laden and followed what he was doing for years prior to 9-11 have even come out and said they think are fake. Mos doesn't do a good job of articulating any of this.

  • salam rushdie is a fucking NWO scum. I wouldnt be surprised if he is a member of bilderberg, cfr, or trilateral.

  • I don't smoke pot ... but I agree that it should be legalized. Doing so would cut down on the number of people in our prisons, provide some tax relief, and relax a lot of uptight people. We had prohibition for alcohol and now we have it for MJ. Time to rethink the strategy of prevention since it clearly doesn't work and it's costing us lots of money that could go to bigger and better things.

  • meh, i agree with you. honestly, if everyone in the world smoked pot every so often (not TOO much, i think addiction IS a problem but pot is rarely addictive) then the world would be a more peaceful place.

i have smoked a couple times before. and it never hurt me!

  • President Rahm Emanuel

    Vice President David Axelrod

    Financial King Shalom Bernacke

Outfront PR guy and Pimp -Barry Sotero aka Barack Hussein Obama

  • Rasputin isn't a mythical figure.

  • Obama can be wrong on one issue and not be a PUPPET. get a fucking clue. epithets like that undercut whatever validity your other arguments might have.

ps. I am a fan of the ganja. ;-)

  • I've never seen Bill Maher before - he seems like the true idiot in all of this

  • Mos Def was annoying on this show, it has nothing to do with hip-hop or being a rapper. I have no idea what he was drinking. I don't have a problem with his points i can disagree where i see fit but i don't like how he cant stop yapping, this is a discussion.

  • i completely agreee and the thick audience just cheers him on, "yes rasputin and bin laden are mythical figures etc... its so depressing to know that this is the state of education in the world. im glad hitchens later calls him out on his ignorance. maybe he'll sharpen his studies a bit now that hes been shamed on natl tv. thanks for sharing these videos, cheers

  • Jesus, I half expected Mos to yell out, "Flava Flav!" I love his music, but this was painful to watch.

  • Casual Thursdays AND Fridays Goddamnit!!!!!

  • "He's like.. Rasputin or some shit"

    ROFLMAO

Mos Def is very funny, and aware of it, and very clever too. Well, more so than people give him credit for. Gotta love the guy.

  • Well said ... he's meant to represent the 'everyman' point of view, these oafs don't get that ... and maybe he's just a little bit wasted too

  • that was such a mindless thing to say, neither are mythical figures and he comes across as confused and poorly educated.

  • I generally like mos def but he has no clue what he's talking about in the realm of politics.

  • Who gives a fuck if mos def is an "artist", although I seriously laugh at the application of that title to some ignorant rapper idiot. He is a dumbass and cannot communicate like a normal human. He sounds like a retarded child. Worse actually. He's babbling nonsense and worse, he's interrupting people that have a much more intelligent and knowledgeable opinion of the matter than he.

  • i agree, this was difficult to watch until hitchens came out and gave him a properly informed throttling.

  • Hitchens is a total propagandist, Mos just ends up looking bad cause he doesn't have the facts to back up his suspiscions about Bin Laden & Al-Qaeda. Like for instance they have this guy named Adam Pearlman who they pretend is named Adam Gadagn, who's grandfather is literally a board member of the ADL & who's been a raging Zionist who wrote essays saying that Muslims are blood-thirsty monsters. But now he's a supposed convert to Islam and member of Al-Qaeda. & he makes these ridiculous videos

  • where he tries to act all threatening towards the United States speaking on the behalf of Al-Qaeda that are seriously about as believable as a WWF wrestling interview. It's really fucked up that the government & Israel did do 9/11 but it's true. There were Mossad agents filming the attack laughing and celebrating with explosives in their van. You can go look that up as well it was actually reported in the media that day.

  • That's not to say that there aren't real Muslim extremists that exist but they don't understand that they're useful idiots and a tool that enables imperialism. Muslim extremism is actually prefered to moderatism by the Zionists because with moderates they have no excuse to kill them and steal their land.

  • Mos Def is an idiot too.

Jesus Christ. "Who gives a fuck where Bin Laden is?" I do. He's a criminal that helped orchstrate and fund the deaths of over three thousand Americans. That's important for justice.

Why do people not give a fuck about that?

  • he does have a point that bin laden has become pretty much a mythical character at this point. chances are he's dead.

  • chances are he never existed.

  • True, he has become something of a symbol. However, that doesn't negate the necessity for justice.

  • mos def IS a primate. so am i and so is every other human.

  • by calling him primate-faced, I was aligning him with chimps and suchlike ... if you missed my point.

  • This ghetto thug "mos def" is not in the same intellectual league with Bobby Jindal, yet the primate-faced rapper has the nerve to call to question Jindal who is a graduate of Brown University and Oxford University.

  • mos def is a Artist.

you people are so quick to judge him but non of you know his acomplishments.

  • I've seen better artists in infants who color pictures at daycare. mos def is an ignorant dumbass. Who takes his political commentaries seriously?! He shouldn't even have been on the panel... his habitat is the jungle of the ghetto.

  • Comment removed

  • you've totally changed the subject. now your being a hater. I think it's funny how your sitting at home black balling someone that is doing bigger thing than you are. its obvious you have of any knowledge about mos def. why is he on this panel and your not mr. opinionated?

opinons are like assholes everyone has one. mos def is indubitably a great hiphop artist . If you appreciated art you'd see that. instead you would rather slander him say ignorant and racist things.

  • I'm not a hater. Don't be so presumptuous. I don't judge people on things they have no control over. It's just hypocritical to see mos def accusing Bobby of looking funny in that video when clearly he's better looking than mos def. I don't sit at home. I go to college and take very serious courses. I don't think fame and money is the best measurement of a person's intellectual worth. Van Gogh didn't sell a single work in his life but mos def has sold plenty... go figure, fool.

  • fuck u jindhal is a clown. his speech was like talking to children

  • mos def is a smart dude, look past the exterior apperarance fuckwitt

  • He may be, but his outward appearance is such that he cannot be taken seriously. and of course i'm not talking about skin color, I'm referring to his outfit, his slurred accent and a general demeanor of a confused and uninformed individual.

  • "I love Mos Def and he is very intelligent. People want to get stuck on his delivery and not his message. "

    Exactly! Feel the same way!

  • I love Mos Def and he is very intelligent. People want to get stuck on his delivery and not his message.

  • Mos Def SHUT UP. What is up with Bill and having people like him or Sarah Silverman who stick to platitudes and don't offer much original insight?

It may have seemed a good contrast to have Salman Rushdie and MD as panelists but it doesn't work very well.

  • y this nigga go there high

  • 0:51 is all i need to say. Well fuckin said Mos!!!!

  • Watch the Overtime part

  • oh i did. And i read your pop ups and quite frankly it's ridiculous and not needed to add those. You are perfectly entitled to do so it's just not a route i would take. To me they are just opinions as yours are. There's no need to try and be-little someone to make a point. To be quite honest i wouldn't take anything that anyone at that table said to heart but that's just me i have my own beliefs and opinions and that's the main point Mos was tryin to make as far as i understood.

  • Uneducated hahahahahaahha

thats the funniest shit i ever heard!

  • Uneducated ? hahahahahahahaha thats the funniest shit ive ever heard!

  • Mos def is just a child who encourages cheap laughs from an audience with his uneducated, yet loud, remarks.

  • casual thursday and friday, lol

  • Hemp was the number one crop in the Colonies.

Marijuana is a huge money-maker. The problem here is big pharma want to control medicinal marijuana, and the government and big companies like AIG run the drugs into this country (laundering it through tax havens). Then they boost the "homeland security" spending and provide money to the arms industry by going after those drugs. After which they help to feed the coffers of the private prison system. ENOUGH! Legalize marijuana. End the charade.

  • Do you have statistics or a reference for that? I smoke and used to drink and wouldn't touch cocaine or heroin. I did cocaine in the 1980s briefly when it was a fad. At any rate, I agree that marijuana should be legal.

  • Mos Def is sick and is more intelligent than 95% of celebrities out there, so shut the fuck up

  • mos def is the greatest i dont know wat everybody's talking about

  • mos def is a moron. did anyone see him with cornell west last year? god what a idiot. doesn't believe the moon landing and bin ladin is a ok dude. sheeesh

  • My response to mos def: Um, what?

  • ok ok. After 5:00 minutes in...he gets pretty witty.

  • I thought Mos Def was smarter than this... this guy sounds like he's acting dumb.

A gov't can educate AND have an effective military...

  • You want New Orleans fixed? Go down there and fix it...help out and stop waiting for the government to fix everything.

  • Mos Def is the best! I wanted to clap after everything he said. He said everything I feel about the situations that were brought up. I liked what he had to say more than the other three.

  • nope. hes a idiot

  • mos def was a great guest. jokes or no jokes the man has an open mind. and that is not invited to some political minded people. but part of the reason the states are in the trouble they are now is because of the close minded politicians... people get mad a mos... i would love to see immortal technic on this panel

  • Only a retard could consider what Mos Dumb said to be anything other than mindless, idiotic rambling. First he needs to learn to use English and not babble out ignorant Ebonics. Then he needs to learn that making jokes is not the same as making an argument or point. People were laughing at him, not with him.

  • I think Mos Def was a great guest. Half the time this show gets too serious almost bordering on boring. Mos Def may not be an educated intellectual like the other two, but it doesn't matter. He makes the most sense to me, by just speaking the truth and not giving some over the top bullshit answer that only three people in america would understand.

  • that just shows how stupid americans really are. these are the smartest people in the world today making salient points. you are dim

  • SO HOW DO WE GET THRU TO OBAMA ABOUT POT?

    :-)

    strategies?

  • MOS DEF you crack me up, brother.

    good stuff.

  • did you mean mos you are on crack?

  • It wasn't fairly high it was THE HIGHEST,no pun intended.

Fairly Obama unfairly dissmissed the subject like a Uncle Tom....

    The world hates a coward.

  • Bin Laden works down my local chippy. He's changed his name to Dave and plays darts in the Board and Elbow.

  • That ''mos def'' guy should shut the fuck up, no one wants to hear some mumbling incoherent prick talk over everyone else. If i wanted debate of this quality i'd go listen to some drunk tramps down some back ally.

  • i agree! i love mos def's work but as far as any intellectual debate goes, he should just not talk cuz he sounds dumb and im sure everyones laughing AT him not with him cuz he's completely inappropriate

  • If you think this program is strictly about intellectual debate---then you are barking up the wrong tree. This show is about getting ratings #1. The show also thrives with the contrast between intellectuals and comedians/rappers/actors etc. People want to hear their opinions as well as polictical analyst/politicians/writers etc. That is what makes the show special and different.

  • Then you shouldn't watch the show---because the show thrives on contrast between actors/rappers and intellectuals..

  • im quite familiar with the show, i dont remember any retards with a speech impediment talking over everyone else in any of the other shows.

i dont have a problem with actors or rappers, just people who substitute words with groaning noises and mumbling.

  • People talk over everybody all the time on this show.......But I see what level you are on by the way you use the term "retard".

Anyway--Bill knows you cant have an all around entertaining show with a bunch of boring intellectual bloviators...

  • it's funny when obama was on the campaign maher was on his dick! now it seems like he is trying to nit pick everything obama does!! lol

  • It would be nice if Mos Def hadn't dominated 70% of the discussion. Yes, he made some good points and was funny, but then shut up and let Rushdie speak. He had to wait between Mos Def's monologues to get a quick point in.

  • mos def is quite stupid i realize. real ignorant and justa fucking loud mouth

  • lol what did you expect? he's a nigger, he's funny though!!

  • Mos Def is by no means stupid, if you have listened to any of his music he is actually quite observant of the ills facing the inner city. He might not be the best public speaker/debater but don't ever call him stupid. Listen to Mathematics/the entire Black Star album, he is very intelligent.

  • black on both sides is a very insightful album as well

he just pales in comparison to Rushdie

  • i've been a fan of mos def for a long time, you don't need to tell me that. however he is just spouting feel good nonsense that doesn't pertain to the real world. case in point: the whole nuke conversation. it shows a dangerous naivety. so he is stupid in that respect. you can be the most intelligent mathematician but if you can't read than you are stupid in that regard.

  • true, if you have seen Mos Def for President he has a rather simplistic view of how the world works, he says 10% flat tax which would never work. However, I just don't think you should call him stupid, he is actually saying some intelligent things in the debate, these are overshadowed by his lack of knowledge of current events but regardless by even making some intelligent comments he is already smarter than 70% of the population.

  • your totally wrong and your insults are rude and classless your better then that calm down

  • you gotta come better than that haha "you're wrong. bye!" I call it like i see and hear it. mos def came off like a fucking retard and it's quite apparent by certain parts of the video. WATCH THE VIDEO MORON

  • 5:38 "See, he tryin' to come in here and change shit! He got casual Thursday and Fridays!" LOL. That is classic stuff right there.

  • 6:08

    FUCK YEAH

Win the election, run the country.

    Yes, yes, yes.

  • Anybody notice that you can't find any video on the web of Bill Maher and Ann Coulter's latest debate. I WONDER WHY

  • Why?

  • Could it be that Coulter kicked his ass?

  • Easy, Coulter destroyed it all because she didnt want the world to see Bill chew her up and spit her boney backward thinking arse out.

  • watch my animations!

  • Mos Def would just not shut the fuck up in this episode. He didn't say one fucking intelligent thing the entire night and he still had the nerve to talk over everyone.

Yeah Mos, we get it.... You're a very black man.

  • Bill Maher................lmao...........owned

  • Mr Big ego LOLOL

  • Mos Def has a point on bin Laden. At this point (and it's been like this for some time for that fact of matter) Osama bin Laden has become a mythical character of sorts, like Emmanuel Goldstein is in "1984". We don't even know if bin Laden is for certain alive anymore, and the more and more we've heard about Osama bin Laden over the years, the more and more Osama bin Laden becomes more and more an evil fairytale character and less and less a real person, and this has been happening since 9/11.

  • You clearly need medicine. When did I say I was a Hindu or an Indian? You explicitly claimed that widow-burning (sati) is still in practice, a claim which is false. I called you out on that. I made no attempt to whitewash India's economic problems. I just happen to find it ironic that a state which is so much poorer and underdeveloped compared to Gulf states should have such a high level of pluralism and democracy, concepts that are unknown to their Arab and Muslim neighbours...

  • I wasn't referring to sati but to the daily brutal treatment of India. And democracy is easy when you don't have to care about feeding half of your citizens. India's "democracy" is a joke--when 60% of the people cannot even have access to one meal, it's easy to tout yourself as a democracy. get over it--India is a joke.

  • catspew, Yes you did refer to sati, don't try to backtrack. The fact that you thought it's still practiced in India demonstrates that you don't India from a can of paint. I'll tell you what : lecture Mr Rushdie instead, as an Indian with a Muslim upbringing he has seen the worst of Indian poverty - AND of Islamic fanaticism and violence...

  • Even if you don't like Mos Def you have to admit 5:22-5:44 was funny

  • mos def is da man

  • loud and incoherent man.

  • he's being himself....and its a debate

  • to say that mos def is a moron or inarticulate is stupid..his views and the people that he knows probably make up 90% of the american opinion.

thats a majority and thats the opinion that SHOULD be heard.

killing one man is going to take away the abilitiy to control a plane with pocketknives?

  • You think 90% of the country holds the US government responsible for 9/11 rather than Bin Laden?

He is inarticulate and ignorant and obnoxious in taking up 1/2 the time on a 4-person panel filled with intellectuals who know what they're talking about.

  • no he is black, you don't like that he is there with intellectuals, why not say why is that monkey there?

every news program has the same clueless "intellectuals" saying nothing.

he does seem off in a way, but America definitely agrees with him.

    ponder that

  • Mr. Azzaiel, that's an incredibly offensive accusation you just made. Not everyone who finds one black person obnoxious finds them all obnoxious.

Here's a true story: when I got sick of Mos Def's ranting, I turned this thing off and I went and watched the newest episode of Washington Week, instead. If you want to talk about an African American who more than keeps her own with "intellectuals," I'll take Gwen Ifill over this clown any day of the week.

  • i agree i would take gwen ifill, clown is a mockery though, your post is peppered with it. i may have mistaken you for the usual, but u did say the usual, maybe you don't see it and thats great. it just fit the mold.

i thought he was clowning, u r right.but your response is like not getting satire. u think he is serious, because u think he is stupid and that is his end all be all.how is this? those ridiculous intellectuals have done nada! and they seriously believe what they say mean anything.

  • I honestly didn't think that he was presenting any of his points well. He may have had reasons to say what he said, but, personally, it was the delivery that frustrated me.

I know a lot of people who respect him as an artist, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he's probably a smart guy. But he didn't come across well here.

  • i can understand that, but u have to understand that fit the mold of every person trying to belittle blacks when they say "huh?" .. "what?" i don't understand monkey lol

a very clear sign of intelligence is being able to understand what is put before you.

i can assure you, he understands the subtext and subtleties of everything said.

  • look at this page sir, u fit in perfectly. please cross reference to what the "clown" said. those "smart people have nothing to say. they regurgitate the events of the day and you consider them smart because they "act" smart, and they speak with a "poise" you prefer.

don't ever confuse poise for intelligence

  • I don't. There are plenty of people whose intelligence I respect whose delivery is intentionally rough around the edges. Chris Rock, perhaps. I think he's witty, intelligent and engaging. But I didn't get that feel from Mos Def here in this case.

I honestly didn't think his commentary was that great, added to the fact that he was shouting and not making much coherent sense.

  • It has nothing at all to do with the color of the skin: just the personality of the individual. Honeslty, somtimes Bill Maher gets on my nerves when he does something similar. That doesn't mean I'm anti-semetic.

  • to each his own, i thought it was hilarious.

  • Mos Def is a complete moron: he genuinely doesn't understand how he's playing into Republican hands by wilfully forgetting the search for Bin Laden. He idealises and represents the same deluded defence of "common sense" that Bush represented.

  • What a shame that on a panel which featured true intellectual heavyweights like Salman Rushdie and Christopher Hitchens that we were forced to listen to the incoherent ramblings of a common bum like Mos Def.

Bill, by all means, dedicate an entire panel to incoherent common bums - then you can have Mos Def on again!

I'm still feeding everything Mos Def said through a translating machine and -- hopefully by sometime next week -- I'll know what the hell he was saying.

  • it really infuriates me that there is still a war on drug . Are these grown people still trying to beat the kid next door just because they can . There are ploblems 10 fold worse than drugs in this world . How about we start worring about having air to breath or food to eat not to mention water to drink instead of spending billions of dollars on something that can never be won . When will the governments of the world wake up ?I had time for Obama before but he left me dry on this one .

  • and look at the problem in Mexico, the cause of it is the underground drug market. In Australia we have a similar problem with bikie violence. They thrive on the drug trade. So whilst the illegalisation of drugs raises crime, it also wastes police resources and prision space for catching and dealing with a drug that is not even as bad as alcohol or tobacco.

  • It would be awesome if Mos Def just literally just screamed,"NON SEQUITOR!!!!" over and over again.

  • i think they fired the school teachers before this guy got an education. honestly this man is unbelievably ignorant. Only in hollywood can the talentless make so much money

  • hhahaha, love mos def

  • The question should be, when did he go from being Africanus. to Arab. Every time the NAC was conquered they got a new name. And we will to, Oceanus was used on a PT News channel, that name was used by The Prophet Orwell in his writings, 1984.

  • Why is Mos Def on this show?

  • why not?

Bill Maher's old show politically incorect

Every episode had atleast one athlete, comedian, actor, or muscian.

This show has had some aswell, Tim robbins, Kevin Costner,Chris Rock,Martin Short, Sean Penn, John legend, Robin Williams, kerry Washington, Spike Lee, Chris Webber, Will I am, Natalie Maines, Sheryll Crow, gary shandling, dana Carvey, and that is just the ones off the top of my head.

I think it's just to show that these public figures have a point of view too.

  • legalize marijuana!!!

  • I can't fucking stand mosdef! I hope he never gets invited back

  • Peon?

  • 1:00: :"they fired 175 school teachers in florida, I don't give a ** where Bin Laden is at" -Mos Def

  • I like Mos Def and I see the point he was trying to make about America's job loss and struggles but he was wrong about Bin Laden. We need to catch Bin Laden and kill him. Mos Def said we need to at least give Bin Laden a trial first. Fuck that. Bin Laden doesn't need a trial.

  • agreed he doesn't deserve one, but not giving him a trial would be undemocratic

  • It's a joke that Hitchens and Rushdie were put up against this guy. At least they could have got Dr. Naik Zakir, I can't stand him, but he is a smart fucker.

  • The question about marijuana should have been worded differently to the president. It should have said cannabis instead of marijuana because just pot to smoke wont have a big impact on the economy but industrial hemp would be very big. Marijuana legalization would help people with criminal law problems, and the gov would have more money to spend on other things than persecuting cannabis smokers.

  • I don't care how it was worded, the President is backing down from it because he's self-conscious of his skin pigmentation. Thatcher was a war-monger, self-conscious of the bias against female world leaders, and Obama is becoming a prude, conscious of the bias against young black males.

  • I dont think hes self-conscious about that I think he knows that his skin color helped him more than it didnt help. The reason i said the ? was wrong is because it focused on smoking pot instead of industrial hemp. He knows there is a bias against people that smoke pot and politicians that would support that in government and society. It was easier for him to talk about abortion and make decisions about that than cannabis that is interesting to me why that is.

  • That comment coming from someone with a username "webadonis" is priceless. Go back to admiring yourself in the mirror, fool. You don't have the brains to understand what I am saying. Adults are talking, kid--shush.

  • Also, unlike Black people and Muslims around the world, INDIANS love to kiss American and British butt. If an Indian sees a white person, they immediately go into peon/servant/Yes Sah, Yes Sah mode. Rushdie is a typical Indian.

  • "Unlike Black people and Muslims around the world, INDIANS love to kiss American and British butt"

If "kissing American and British butt" means having a functioning federal republic, a thriving literary culture, not practicing suicide terrorism, and generally participating in civil society, then you're right, Indians are guilty of that charge. The Islamic states of the world have a long way to go in comparison.

  • Keep dreaming about your supposed civil society India. 600 million Indians live in slums and have worse living conditions than people in subsaharan Africa. Muslims in India are the poorest minority subject to discrimination. Hindu women are oppressed, routinely burnt alive with kerosene, and Hindi fetuses are aborted to the point of villages now having to import girls from other villages. India is a joke.

  • "Hindu women are routinely burnt alive with kerosene"...

Is urban mythology your idea of discussing current events? Apparently you only think in mindless circles of crap...

  • Oh--to a Hindu Indian, the systematic abuse of Hindu women is urban myth, eh? Just because India is Israel's new buttboy and is getting good press coverage doesn't mean that the realities on the ground of India being a joke and a failed state are not there. Keep dreaming, pal. At least most of the Arab and Muslim states FEED its people. India doesn't even do that for half a billion of its people.

  • Intellectuals, while that guy "the clown" was waging war against bush saying hell no i am not going to war for your oil. all the smart people were falling for it.

while that "clown" was calling bush on everything he was doing, all the mart people were busy falling for it.

it is funny, look at him, even bill maher was "translating" while he said america is a certain way, maher called it as stupid. which it was.

mos def called all of this 7 years before these smart people who just get it.

  • damn i would have not said that but a lot of times that is true

  • mos is funny... but he doesn't know half the stuff hes talkin about

  • I agree with Mos Def, I could care less where 'Osama bin laden' is. He's just a GUY. Big deal. There are more important things to focus on. And I'm with Bill on the pot question. It seemed like Obama just said the answer that the politicians and self righteous christian pricks wanted to hear, and didn't even take the time to look at the facts and THINK about it a little. Anyone who's thought about would see that legalizing it is WOULD help the economy.

  • Dude, we need to kill Bin Laden. We can't risk another 9/11 happening. We can multi-task. We can hunt Bin Laden and work on the economy at the same time. If the economy is your main concern, another terrorist attack would just hurt the economy more.

  • Dude, it is so much bigger than him and to kill him will just create loads more As&T, Bin was never a point, it was the fact that when the As and Ts were trained and armed by the US to kick Russians arse. Then we pulled out of our deal w/them. You so need to study.

  • +1 Mos def. I don't *care* about Iraq. I don't want to *hear* more about it. At this point so much disinformation has been pumped out about Iraq--why we're there, who they're associated with, how the war is going--that I don't believe anything the gov't or press says, either. And bin Laden is just a revenge-seeking (against the Saudis, not us) rich brat on youtube. They took planes with box-cutters. THAT'S IT. He HAS been mythologized far past his real power.

  • You're Sarah Palin, aren't you.

  • it does matter where bin Laden is at. Yes NOLA needs some more attention, but to say the status of bin Laden and Afghanastan dosent matter is just fookin crazy.

  • Marijuana Law Reform Is No laughing Matter Mr President!

  • That guy is so stoned.

  • Mos Def is funny as hell, and somewhat accurate, Obama is under incredible scrutiny, much more so than Bush ever was.

  • Hypocrites, everyone wants to change the tone in washington until their party is in power.

  • Since when was Rasputin a "mythological" figure, if I recall Mos Def correctly? The Casual Thursdays AND Fridays quip was funny though.

Obama came off as a total douche on the pot question, although I think the one poster hit it right on the head as to why pot has to be criminalized (keeping alive the prison-industrial complex).

  • LOL - "Casual Thursdays AND Fridays!"

  • haha Big Ego... that's the best!

  • Mos Def, another product of the failed education system he was criticising

  • Mos Def is an absolute numbnuts.

  • Mos Def is an inarticulate narrow-minded idiot. I don't care whether he's a democrat or a republican. He's an idiot.
