  • Are there any Flxible Metros out there, whether powered by the Cummins L10 or M11 or the Detroit Diesel 6V92TA, have that strange HVAC growl when said device is on (a la HVAC Gillig Phantoms and Orions)?

  • Man she sounds good

  • @8v71buses Yeah but the voiths kill it for me!

  • cool sound :D

  • I think this is a great recording! I love the Flxibles, with the Cummins/Voiths!

  • Thank you man!

  • Great Job!

  • Thanks man!

  • @Annex4421 Nobody is forcing you to get a ZF recording. If you don't like them, then you don't like them. If anybody else got a problem with it tell them I SAID KISS YOUR ASS!!!!

  • Way cool, sounds exactly like our old LACMTA 1988 Flxible Metro B-Series with that same powertrain, but without the infamous rattle :)

  • This one sounds just like the 1990 Flx Metros in Miami MDTA and Chicago CTA's 1991 Flx Metros (series 5740s)

  • @qwandiddy

    #5745-5754.

  • @ClassicTVMan81 Correct! Thanks for corrections!

  • @qwandiddy

Actually I need to correct myself again: #5755-5764.

  • I know that losing it while you where on this bus.

  • Nah not really to tell you the truth, it has a Voith and I don't like Voiths, I just recorded it just to say I was on it

  • Don't they run any with allison transmissions?

  • Yes they do...the Metro E's have the VR-731 Transmissions in them!

  • did you get a recording?

  • I did the 1st time I went out there but it didn't come out as clear as I wanted it to

  • @rts9100

Also... WMATA had ran Flxible Metros from 1986 to 1989 (the "A" and "B" units) with Allison trannies, those which were retired about at least five years ago. Those units were 8700-8774, 8800-8925, 8950-8970, 9201-9239, 9271-9289 and 5150-5184.

  • Not even Bee-Lines voith to a 6v92?

  • @ohnestaeb86 I haven't been on them before but anything with voiths I do not like

  • @rts9100 I see what you mean when listening to the Cummins to Voiths buses that DC has (although I still kinda like them) but the Voiths to 6v92s that bee-line had were the ish.

  • @rts9100

There were 6V92/Voith Flxibles in Miami, FL and Fresno, CA.

  • Nice btw

  • WHAAAAAT!!!!! U made a recording i must gonna get lucky by my bday or somethin

  • LOL!!! What you mean?!
