This nocturne reminds me of my childhood. Its scent is so nostalgic. I don't mind anything about the tempo. I got stuck under heavy memories when I play this nocturne. However, I think it should be more smoother but not more slower.
This is a very good tempo, the left hand is marked with staccato chords (with pedal) which gives the music a necessary movement forward... too slow - don't flow. Very thoughtful phrasing in the right hand.
yes i know there is a lot of pressure nowadays to interpret the music "your way"
to all respect, this is a very fascinating interpretation, but just like the greats in the past, bolet, horowitz, rubinstein, they all play this piece at a classy , slow , sad (nocturne way)
The speed on this video here takes out that effect that this nocture needs.
@deerodchan The tempo marking on the original manuscript is Andante. So this interpretation is probably pretty close to what Chopin actually intended.

Quite honestly I think the speed was good but some extra staccato would have made it sound a lot better especially in the left hand

@deerodchan it's perfect that way anyone would agree. if it's too slow it gets bogin and the audience gets sleepy
