I wonder , did you add feedback or servo type electronics so the computer knows where it is at any given moment and that it has not overshot the mark and got lost as to its position?
try hitting f5 (refresh) sometimes there's a glitch in youtube that makes the video show up as "not availble" but when you refresh the page, it's there.
I wanted to do something with an old flat bed scanner I had. It was still good, but old, so big and huge and cost more than 3 of my modern PC's. But such is the way of the old being overpriced compared to the new, in the evolution.
But the stepper motor with the drive shaft would have been idea for this kind of thing.
Is there a microprocessor of some type in-between the mill and the software, or do programs like Mach3 have an easy way to connect stepper motors directly to a USB port, etc.?
I'd love to see plans and to know more about what drivers/software you are using here. Very nice build, but the documentation seems incomplete without drawings.

thats pretty cool! How accurate can it route? does it depend on the dremel bit? would they wear out quickly on PCBs? Nice job mate!

Maybe you could hook a small vacuum cleaner hose right next to your Dremel or whatever to suck up the dust (or at least most of it)
