WHen you buy insurance the insurance companies say "you can only spend X ammount of money per year" OR "you can only spend X ammount of money throughout your whole life" - those are caps, the second one being the lifetime cap. It's usually a few hundred thousand dollars for a lifetime cap, but if you have cancer or some other expensive to treat condition you can get to your cap in two years, then you basically have no insurance left.

There have been two national ran health care programs already running for a good time now. The one for our military, which most vets will tell you it sucks. The second is the IHS (Indian Health Services). Being full blood N.A. Indian i can tell you from my own experience growing up that the second is truly worthless in its means. Now they are in a decline. They are having a debate their now to see if they should manage the decline or try to restimulate in the industrial sector. I think the real issue at play is that most people want to see the admin succed. Obama campaigned on a lot of issues when the economy was better. But when he came it had already dived. i ran a daycare and it was the same thing. If enrollment was down you had two choices. Cut peoples hours, or lay people off. I tried to keep hours stable but cut out overtime. I also cut spending to conserve funds. Until enrollment went up. If I got hit with new rules it made it harder for me to run. It always does for a business owner. Doctors will tell you that one of the biggest issues in health care cost is frivilous law suits. That's because their are lawyers who specialize in going after doctors. They look for whatever they can find to make money off malpractice insurance. Some hospitals pay that, some doctors pay privately. It's costly.

Well due to lack of expirence he was letting Pelosi and her crew write the HC bill. Then when it was done, most seniors and small buisness owners saw it as a problem. They were not on board. You have to remember that Pelosi comes from a state that is bankrupting itself so her outlook and guidance should be taken with a huge grain of salt. CA hurt itself with higher taxes and regulations. The business owners go fed up and started leaving the state. They went to Neveda, Arizona, and other states that had the restrictions eased. CA lost a lot of tax paying revenue in the way of businesses and people who lost jobs because the left the state.

WHen you buy insurance the insurance companies say "you can only spend X ammount of money per year" OR "you can only spend X ammount of money throughout your whole life" - those are caps, the second one being the lifetime cap. It's usually a few hundred thousand dollars for a lifetime cap, but if you have cancer or some other expensive to treat condition you can get to your cap in two years, then you basically have no insurance left.

The 'aim' of this Bill is to create a LIFE-TAX to go along with the INCOME TAX under the guise of 'Healthcare.' Its essentially the same thing as charging for breathing. They finally found a way to make Air a commodity like water and food.
The quality of healthcare has been the pits for patients rather they had insurance or not. And people will still not be able to afford it but have a big chunk out of their income to pay for nothing.

the bill as is would be better off with insurance companies having to compete for business. The reason they don't want that either is because they will have to lower their rates to stay competitive. But no matter what system you use you have to pay. With a single payer system you have a higher income tax. Then in tough economic times you have to trim the care because of lack of funding due to lower taxes being paid in. The UK has that issue. It pisses people off there.

This bill was passed so Obama can use it to wipe his ass at the State of the Union address. Getting the Nobel Peace Prize for sending troops to Afgan didn't sound good.. There have been two national ran health care programs already running for a good time now. The one for our military, which most vets will tell you it sucks. The second is the IHS (Indian Health Services). Being full blood N.A. Indian i can tell you from my own experience growing up that the second is truly worthless in its means. The nations have tried to adjust for costs but, because its gov. ran they cannot even though it costs more and is more wastefull as it stands. so this hcb. now sucks.

Yeah, it's called nationalisation. If they are publicly traded companies (which they all are) the government simply buys a majority share and sets the rules and regulations. The government isn't bullied by companies like the American government just was. They're not afraid of the private sector, and by keeping the prices lower in the government's foray into commercial health insurance, other companies must remain fairly priced to survive.

There wont be any public option via reconciliation in 2011. The fact is many democrats will lose thier seats in 2010 as the majority of the bill remains on hold till 2014 and the people see no change. If they do not do something to accelerate the protections in this bill or provide choice and cost controls before the mid terms it will be an irretrievable disaster. Those of you on the left who cant see that are as delusional as the nuts on the right who are taking down thier christmas trees.

Last week, I got a Christmas present from my health insurance "provider". Effective June 2010, my premiums will go up 9%.
What makes me believe,
that under Obamacare,
that I will be longing for only a 9% increase in the future.

In Canada, Healthcare is less than 1/2 the cost of the US. Higher life expectancy. Lower infant mortality rate. Rated way higher by the UN than the USA.

The you go down the Japanese tried in the 90's and they still have not had a total recovery. They did rack up a deficit. I talk to a guy from Japan. He says they run at a huge deficit ever since. Now they are in a decline. They are having a debate their now to see if they should manage the decline or try to restimulate in the industrial sector. US is following that path if it keeps up the deficit spending.

Don't mistake me for an Obama hardliner, I think he has the right idea but is going about it wrong. Spending is absolutely essential to ending a recession, but that spending needs to be fully absorbed back into the economy. Putting money back into the hands of big business was the wrong way to go about it. That's why we need a third party. One spends in the wrong places, and the other doesn't spend enough. Both sides got it wrong

I think the real issue at play is that most people want to see the admin succed. Obama campaigned on a lot of issues when the economy was better. But when he came it had already dived. So he is trying to keep the promises but on a sluggish economy. So really to me, health care should have been back burner. It has been helping to aggrivate job growth. i ran a daycare and it was the same thing. If enrollment was down you had two choices. Cut peoples hours, or lay people off. I tried to keep hours stable but cut out overtime. I also cut spending to conserve funds. Until enrollment went up. If I got hit with new rules it made it harder for me to run. It always does for a business owner. That's why you hear them getting worried about talk of taxes, new regulations, and no tort reform. People trying to sue you out of spite

Obama has not addressed tort reform because he comes from a background where his peers are trial lawyers. If he did he would be stabbing them in the back. Doctors will tell you that one of the biggest issues in health care cost is frivilous law suits. That's because their are lawyers who specialize in going after doctors. They look for whatever they can find to make money off malpractice insurance. Some hospitals pay that, some doctors pay privately. It's costly.

Well also consider that General Electric got a182.5 billion dollar bail out. MSNBC is owned by General Electric. MSNBCers DO criticize Obama. Maddow came down on him VERY hard over unlimited detention. Scarborough, who is right of centre, has criticized the Obama administration. Olbermann and Maddow, furthermore, have very strongly endorsed the public option, which is to the chagrin of Obama, who since his election, has clearly been against it at a behavioural level.

When I have listened to MSNBC side with people like Michael Moore I really question their intentions as a news network. Moore is now talking about going after Liberman for blocking parts of the HC bill. I also don't care for Olberman's Worse, Wosrt, and Worser segment. It is kind of immature. I don't really watch MSNBC anymore. CNN, some FOX in the early part of the day when more news is on and not the raving beck. ABC then I go to internet sources. Well due to lack of expirence he was letting Pelosi and her crew write the HC bill. Then when it was done, most seniors and small buisness owners saw it as a problem. They were not on board. When it got to the Senate, Reid and his crew went into a room w/o repbus to write their version. People like to blame Liberman for being a millionaire sympathizer but really he is just more moderate. He also has a better pulse for the country.

You have to remember that Pelosi comes from a state that is bankrupting itself so her outlook and guidance should be taken with a huge grain of salt. CA hurt itself with higher taxes and regulations. The business owners go fed up and started leaving the state. They went to Neveda, Arizona, and other states that had the restrictions eased. CA lost a lot of tax paying revenue in the way of businesses and people who lost jobs because the left the state.

lets be clear Nelson and Lieberman were not with the democrats until the public option & the medicare buy-in were removed from the bill. For them it is not about what is good for the public, it is about getting reelected. To accomplish this, they will vote the way of the lobbyists who fund them, namely the insurance companies. So, they are voting for the campaign money, not representation of those who elected them, and not party lines either. Corporate lines.
