Peter Lik does not use photoshop to edit his pictures, what he does it way more simple. He takes multiple pictures of the same scene at different exposures and uses a software to fuse them into a single image. He sold on of those pictures for one million dollars.
OMG, look at 2:05. Is this an image of the final print? The contrast and color have been boosted to ridiculous levels. "Master Photographer" Pfft! Hardly. More like "Master of Photoshop."
As much as it pains me, I gotta admit that the final B/W image is very nice. (Although the clouds have the all-too-familiar over-processed "nuclear fallout" look.)
Thanks for the feedback, everyone. And stay tuned for news of Peter's upcoming series on The Weather Channel in early 2011. He's done a lot of filming for it already and it's going to be awesome! Meanwhile, we invite you to check out his blog for all the latest news, photography tips, equipment reviews, and more. (just go to the official Peter Lik website and click on "blog")
Thanks for sharing these great videos about your shooting explorations. Can't wait to see more. Timeless is one of those less obvious masterpieces from Peter Lik - glad to have it in my collection.
ha! really? i know better places in Yosemite that this guy's showing. and there are much more grandiose pictures of the valley... valley is magical, especially under the snow after a storm -- but you can't see it in this video... :((
@abcpp000 My wife and I have always wanted to go to Yosemite to see the grandure and majesty. Care to share some of those spots you are referring to? Send me a direct message if you do.
You are an amazing photographer. I would have bought one of your canyon pictures. (In a bryce canyon or something. I don't remember.) but I don't carry 2,000 dollars around. haha. But, you do take amazing photos.
Amazing! 2:20 is just stunning!
