I think wood henge was a center for commerce a market or trading post and that stone henge was an ancient grain store.
and I would not be surprised if these ancient people used similar words to some modern English words such as market and get.these words relate to the word guard or garden which I believe have there origins in Atlantis, the ancient lost empire that I believe was on the west cost of Europe over ten thousand years ago.
I honestly think that this type of building was destroyed by the invasion of Britain 2000 years ago so your reconstructions are in with a great chance of being absolutely right. Lengthy wooden walkway constructions existed over Ireland and England before being mostly destroyed and forgotten as well, so this rings true with realism. The craftmanship of setting stones at Stonehenge surely says the same level of craftmanship existed for wooden constructions, the likes of which are shown here.
I doubt that. 2000 people may well have lived in the houses in Durrington walls. Have you seen the space inside woodhenge? It's not big. Those concrete stumps were huge posts remember and also there was a stone cove inside. There were at least 3/4 large timber circles within the Durrington henge. Woodhenge is not unique, and there is still no archaeological evidence for it having a roof, or being a house.
if only the engineers back then could work their magic now...
i guess someone had the right idea to chop down wooden henge and just leave behind stumps. perhaps the wood was deteriorating, and the fear of collapse posed a danger.
Since when? That's rubbish. Woodhenge was long gone before the romans came to Britain, and there was no invasion. They were invited and set up military outposts to harvest the wealth from Britain. Many britons adopted roman culture because of its benefits at the time, and then reverted back to a tribal nation after they left. If the romans destroyed Woodhenge, they would also have done so to Stonehenge. They didn't!
Well done Kris, nice animation. Well done to Bruce too, your getting a nice animated portfolio together, I hope you get recognition someday soon mate.
