  • This is a pretty nice camera, I was doing some research on different SLR cameras and was considering this one or the Canon Rebel t2i

  • @jcforpresident i think our distance concerning simply semi pro and pro is smaller today. d7000 is perhaps all we want. check out... freedslr . cong change cong with com and get a chance to win a new Nikon D7000

  • Do you have to always change the settings for every picture you take? I still have questions before buying this camera, if you don't mind :) Thanks

  • @edwardcute13 yes but not all the time, i change it when i am in every different situations, it is the most common thing to do when owning a dslr..maybe you want to try d3100, it is the latest entry level dslr, it's more better than d3000.. no problem and your welcome.. :)

  • @johnofarch14 Ive been looking at the d3000 or the canon sx30is, still torn between both :d my budget for one will be around 400 dollars. And im into landscapes mostly :)

  • @edwardcute13 i am sorry edward but i cannot do comparison about canon because i dont own one, but d3000 takes gud images in landscape though, all dslr's do and some depend on lenses.. if i wer u, go for the d3100 or if u cant afford it, go find a d3000 body and a 35mm af 1.8 lens that will be a perfect combination :) ...

  • @johnofarch14 Okay thanks for the feedback! i am planning to buy the d3000 now soon :)

  • @edwardcute13 goodluck! vist me @ flickr " johnofarch14 " for more sample picts of d3000.. and sign up and join the group called "nikon d3000" they can help you answer your questions about the camera and some other techniques.. :)

  • @johnofarch14 Wow thanks :) ill check out the pics!

  • How did you edited your pictures? meaning adding shadows and saturations etc photoshop or picasa?

  • @rizwanholo1 pictures at d video was edited at photoshop... now i am using lightroom...

  • I just got this camera and lens for Christmas :)

I'm loving it, but sometimes I can't get the focus I want because I can't override certain things. What mode and settings should I be set to for good macro shots using the 18-55mm?

    Thanks!!

  • @Missyriss1234 how sweet!!!! :) merry xmas!! i always set it to aperture when taking macro and setting it to the lowest number. dont worry, ul get use to it, practice! :) i know someday you'l try to tink bout gettin another lens... if so try gettin the sigma 18-250mm os hsm.. its really good in d3000 body, it really works well.... good luck.. :)

  • NVideaMan808, That was actually my parents camera which they returned so I bought my own instead, I love it

  • Great pictures! I love my D3000! I love that piano piece that is played, could you please tell me the name of it?

  • Amazing pictures for a be first timer keep it up

  • I just got this today, amazing for my first slr camera, the pics are pure and the settings are simple but annoying, overall worth the money anyday 11/10 Lol

  • @Brendon00000 congratulations brendon! enjoy your first dslr!!!! :)

  • @Brendon00000 what's so annoying about it? the aperature and shutter speed? that's normal for all dslr's

  • Very nice pictures. I also have a D3000. Now all I need is more time. Thanks for sharing.

  • GREAT CAM GREAT INVESTMENT,I GOT THIS CAM LAST WEEK :) come check my pics

  • Wow..that was great. I really love your style. I also appreciate the advise you gave to 2butterfly1 about setting the aperture to the lowest point...will be doing that immediately when I get my D3000 next week. Any other settings you find yourself using most often? Again, really great shots...thanks for sharing...:)

  • I just purchased my first Nikon and it's the d 3000 and the as well, how did u get that lens to perform so well I often use the 55- 200

  • @2butterflyb1 i always set my aperture to the lowest point for a well focused subject and a blured background for the d3000.... all the pictures was taken a year ago by 18-55 vr lens... i used to have the 55-200... if your planning for upgrades, 18-200 vr is the best.. thank you!!! :)

  • hey what's did u use for editing the pictures?! anyway great pictures!! :D

  • @21hanii the pictures was taken almost a year ago but until now i am still using photoshop's and photomatix softwares... :) thanks!!!!

  • what song was this?

  • how is the zoom on the standard kit lens

  • 18-55mm

  • those photos were actually pretty good for only two weeks worth of practice =)

Im getting this camera for Christmas !!

  • what's the size of the photos?

    2:3 or 4:3

  • nice! imma buy this camera after christmas ^^

  • me too! i really want this camera!

  • go for the d5000 if u hav the budget for it.. the advantages of d5000 are the movie mode, live view,cn rotate the lcd screen or it varies angle and 12.3mp but pixel only matters if ur printing large sizes of pictures...d3000 is CHEAPER, smaller and lighter, it has a 3" lcd screen and a guide mode for beginners like me... :)... but in terms of photography i tink d picture quality is a just the same, i heard dt it really depends on wat lens ur using and how u edit ur pictures..... gudluck... :)

  • @johnofarch14 if your not a photographer dont fool with the camera. just buy a point and shot camera

  • @dubo13 I'm not a photographer... I bought a D3000, point-n-shoot sux... just because you're not a professional photographer doesn't mean you don't want great photos and an adjustable camera...

  • @phroggyy i agree.. :)

  • hey, im a noob in photography and im planning on buying a dslr cam. but im stuck btwn d3000 and d5000 . can u advice?

  • D300 .

    It's alot less confusing .

Although if you want a camera with video .

    go for the D5000

  • yes bobby i just use the kit lens, it is a nikkor dx 18-55mm vr lens. im not yet familiar bout other lenses,hehe.. its my 2nd week of practicing.. all d photos was modified in the retouch menu of the d3000 and few adjustmnt was made by photoshop.. ;) tnx..

  • @johnofarch14 beautiful pics beautiful color, can you tell us pliz what song is this ? thank you :))

  • Did you just use the kit lens? because I have a D3000 and it doesnt response to the kind of bokeh that you get in your photos. It looks like the 35mm 1.8.

How do you manage to get it?

  • thanks for sharing!!!!
