  • i would have recommended this mobo

    1 x [SLI] ASUS P8Z68-V Pro -- 3x PCI-E 2.0 x16, On-Board Bluetooth, Lucid Virtu Technology

but its too late i see...

  • Hey, I got one more question. Shall I buy two 6950's or one gtx 580? I heard of crossfire problems and bad driver support for amd cards and a single gtx 580 don't got those problems, but two 6950 are as cheap as a 580 and they got more power together. So what do you advise me to buy ?

  • @checkermanhans I got two 6950's running in CrossfireX because in most instances you will get better performance, sometimes significanly so, than the GTX 580 and for roughly the same money at the time. I am now looking to get the new 7990 when it comes out which is a duelGPU 7970.

  • Oh I for got to mention that the graphic cards are both one gig cards

  • Iv recently damaged a capacitor on my ga-ep45t-extreme motherboard, and have a new board coming it's a asus maximum IV extreme-z with a pare of dominator gt cl8 2x2 gig kit on it's way.

Will my 850 gigabyte Odin psu be able to supply enough watts to a pare of asus 6950's, antec h2o 620, 1 DVD drive 1 blue ray drive, the fans in an antec 1200, ocz 60 gig ssd' 300 gig hard drive and a new 2600k processor will this be a stable power supply ? If anyone can help be much appreciated

  • @MrTechNICKcall Yes 850 watt PSU will be fine.

  • How much did it cost you?

  • @DsTechReviews The system cost around $2,300 all together.

  • is a 750 w psu enough if you don't gotta watercoling system and a ssd ?

  • @checkermanhans Yes a 750 watt PSU could handle this setup, but a 850 or higher would run more efficient. At full load the system gets near 400 watt draw so a PSU rated at least double your power draw is reccomended for better efficiency.

  • Dude what the hell?? 1200 Watt?

Is that really needed? >,<?? Its like half of a Condition which is ... -.-

  • @m39bdaiman No a 1200 watt PSU isn't needed at all for this setup. An 1,000 would have been more than accurate. I was originally going to go with video cards which drew a lot more power when I initially ordered this PSU. Also it's just as well because i'm future proofed for future upgrades to my system.

  • Overkill psu

  • who effin cares bout unboxing? if i need to see how this shyt looks i'd go check pics on newegg :D BENCHMARKS FTW!!!!

  • @sil0o How do you benchmark a PSU? :P hehe I have some benchmarks of the system. I'll be posting some new benchmarks soon.

  • @Ben7seven7 you strips this 24pin connector, hold it firmly in your hand and power it on.. if you manage to call 911 then PSU is crappy xD have you done benchie vids already? i owned an XFX 6950 CF myself along with a 2500K overclocked and it performed like sh!t.. single card was running smoother without hiccups.. as i'm typing i'm ordering an EVGA 570 SC and crossing fingers

  • 1200w is too much, its overkill by 300 watts..

  • @sexking83 You're right, a 900 watt PSU would have been fine for this build, but I want to be set for further upgrades and more power hungry video cards down the line.

  • @Ben7seven7 i have a coolermaster gx 750w, 1 6950 2g, p8h67-m pro, i7 2600 atm and i was just wondering if i can go crossfire with that psu :/

  • Nice gear sir. 1200w is some serious beef

  • @TheKalamazooChapter yes the 1200 watt PSU is some serious beef and serious dollars, $275 worth.

  • Sexy build bro, I would suggest getting an ssd for the OS boot drive and then doing a RAID array with the mechanical drives.

  • @theomega831 I have a RAID 0 with the two drives, I may add a 3rd to my RAID 0 for both additional speed, and storage capacity, as I am now recording and saving shows on my PC with Media Center.

  • i want to CROSSFIRE 6950's 1gb cards... i want to use FPS Everest 1010W as PSU which come with 2 x PCI-E (6Pin) and 2 x PCI-E (6+2Pin). so since the card require 6pin connectors, do i have the proper cables for it ? 1 card requires 2 6pin connectors so 2 cards will require 4 6 pin connectors ? so does may PSU have 4 6pin connectors ?? please help

  • @nishchal Your PSU should have enough connectors. You can use the 6+2 pin connectors, just don't plug in the +2. it's the same thing. Also you can use power adapters that change other style connectors to the PCI-E connectors should you not have enough. The video cards some with such adapters.

  • why no ssd?

  • Very nice. I'm considering 6950 crossfire for my next build

  • more vids dude!

  • @tinjuko More vids on way, inclding some simple unboxing videos, fully assembled system. Then finally a couple of Benchmarks to show the CrossfireX in action. Expect them up today and tomorrow.
