  • Ex-Governator.

  • remember hearing this one back in the day, on the dancefloor ... already having been a TMC fan for years I had to just jump up and/or down ...

but seems a bit OTT now. i'll just steal the TMC/Buckley bit for the private material remixes'..

  • tuuuuuuuuune!! old skool rules, still bang this track out when i come home late and make like a cheesy quaver

  • I remember this track well. Awesome song! ...And you are nothing compared to the great Arnold Schwarzenegger.

  • completely agree - a full weekender of nothing but old skool back2back - if its not there already then it should be!!!

  • liz fraser totally makes this song worth while, with her brilliant voice but I still love the whole running man thing!!

  • I promise to say that this song is my favorite techno song 'til death do us part.

  • does anyone know were this song is played during the actual film ?

  • @bigsteve2345 It was a clip from "Running Man"

  • @bigsteve2345 and it was not used in the movie

  • @bigsteve2345 not at all... this came out after the film. Messiah released the song 1992 and the movie was done in 1987. sorry man...

  • BLOODY LOVE!!!

    Well done!!!

  • @POPINCORPORATED The Running Man always reminded me of a huge "MEGA MAN" video game :)

  • i love this track too. Liz Fraser also sings Song to the Siren, which is perfect for those who have been slung on the rocks by a lover.lol

    (@bensonix on twitter)

  • this is the shit!

  • the messiah is kinda good. seriously!!

  • "Sub Zerrooo is NOW plaain zeerooo !" - Ah, Good old Arnold lines...you just can't beat them!

  • All original, ultimate best. This was a part of the movie trailor for thoes who remember. Look at Arnold, furthest thought from his mind was politics. You wont hear this track on the radio, even XM. GP, stay up! DCB

  • found it! love it

  • WOW

  • who cares where it came from , some bollocks called this mortal coil, sounds 100 times better with Itsy singing it!!

  • Been looking for this for awhile.

    Thanx 4 the upload! : )

  • hence in all probability, this is the origination of they got the idea to either

    1) have someone else sing the riff

    2) sample the original track and post a model for the video who thought she was singing it but when in the studio, they used the original sample, instead or

    3) Post a model who pushed a key on a sampler and claims it was her vocal when it was simply a sample.

Ah, the mystery of pop music. The world may never know the truth

  • The vocal snippet in contention here happens at 1:25 into the track "Song to the Siren" by the group This Mortal Coil.

  • Although upon listening, I can see how it would be sampled, easily as it is virtually aCapella and with very little background music save for a few guitar notess. The key the original "did I dream, you dreamed about me" in the This Mortal Coil track is within the confines that it would fit...and the slowed tempo of the Messiah tracks to the pitched down a semitone aspect of the sample. So, if you sang it, then you sang the exact phrase from another song, and weren't aware of it.

  • HOW RARE!! thank you for posting yo!! its been forever. thank you so much!

  • I remember hearing this song on the mutaut dance party on WHFS back in 1993. I'm glad I finally got the name of the song after all these years. THANKS

  • Funny, thinking back to HFS prompted me to look for this song as well. There's all kinds of footage from old HFStivals if you look around.

  • This is the song that got me into techno.

  • Ditto. Long live the Messiah!

  • That really takes me back.

Glad I'm not the only one that remebers that song.

  • Best treadmill song ever!

  • LOL love your comment

  • OMG YES!!!! Thanks for the memories that flood back at 120 + BPM!

  • @ecpeter Wow I'm 18 again! SO much comes back with this great song . Thanks for putting this up!!!

  • Excellent track and the video is cool. Thx

  • what happened to the orginal video its not on here anymore.

  • hi, i am the original female vocalist on this track. you can see the first video on youtube via rikkytron.

  • No way! That's quality. Do you record any more?

  • hi, at the moment I am not recording, as I have just moved to Australia with my family, but I am always singing!!!

  • Isn't the original female vocalist "This Mortal Coil"?

  • hi, I don't know what "this mortal coil" is, but I can assure you that the vocal samples used on Messiah's Temple of Dreams are mine, and it is me that you see singing in a silver outfit on their original video. I was the featured artist used on this particular track.

  • This Mortal Coil's version of Song to The Siren is most likely the song that Messiah wanted to sample, though it seems the key of the vocals in that song are different than the vocals on the Messiah song... So I am assuming that is why they asked you to record that vocal part. Here is a link to the "This Mortal Coil" song I am talking about: watch?v=4mUmdR69nbM

  • I do remember the original video and still have it somewhere on a VHS tape entitled Techno Rave Vol 1. I believe the original video was in black and white and the vocalists hair was up in a conical shaped weave, correct? Very good vocals and sadly people are misquoting the origin of the vocals due to someone on another website misinforming others that the vocal snippet was a sample taken from a track by the group This Mortal Coil entitled 'Song of the Siren'

  • If you find it, reply to this comment I'm leaving you and let me know :)

  • this song is on the album raving we're raving 1992

  • what the hell is no?

  • without further ado it's time to start running

  • What's with the flange effect? Did someone get a Kaos pad for xmas?? It ruins the tune...

  • I agree. It seriously fucks up the sound. Like a boy trying to show his shiny new bike. Look at me mom, mom, mom, look, no hands, look at me look at me.

  • Is it me or does someone seriously need to open up a club and just play Rave tunes from 89-94 non stop??

throw in a few Italo piano house and early house mixes and its a night made in heaven!

is this a gap in the market?? ok it will mainly be for the late 20s to early 40s brigade but who cares lol

  • Try Ulrich Schnauss and William Orbit (fuck the Madonna pollution though).

Live365 has some channels you might like.

  • 80s Rock, and early 90s techno . . two different styles of music, but to me the best music decades and styles ever offered.

  • @Robertissimo Man good techno really game out of 80s experimental music. There were some great tunes even before 89. And yes, even though I can't dance, I agree with you. That would be cool.

  • @Robertissimo yes i deffo agree, music today is shit !!

  • @Robertissimo wow what an idea that would be a great place!

  • @Robertissimo

    damn right matey

  • @Robertissimo Bowlers Manchester Complusion re opening night with new & old skool 28th May 2011

  • Classic tune, thanks!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah! I would like to see "Thunderdome" too!

  • Remarkable! Love to all:)

  • This is the third vote to remove that damn filter. It does nothing to add to the song

  • i agree to much filter, brings the memories back though, those were the days ,,, ave it

  • Why did you put so much filter effects??? It scraps that great song!

  • "It's time to start...RUNNING!" lol. Good song, dorky movie. : )

  • Did i dream that you dreamed about me.

    Lyrics for the sub conscous

  • the original video was on youtube a while back - it must have been removed. Thanks for this. Brings back some bad memories ;-)

  • omg this is original rave sweet

  • I heard the house hardcore tune raving in 1991 on love doves. . .those were the days! although i never related this tune to the running man film, now obviously it is

  • EXCELLENT!!!

  • This is my favourite old school dance tune.

  • The song does the video some justice, techno rave at its best.

  • i heard this track many years ago around 95 and it wasnt wasnt untill many years later i saw running man and realized where the vocal came from. this video is great its exactly like i pictured if i was to make it. awesome. good job
