Brings back memories straight away. I LOVED this theme. And I remember the days of Hulk Hogan well, that was back when Wrestleing was FUN and ENJOYABLE to watch, with larger than life characters. Big Boss Man, Jake The Snake, Ultimate Warrior, Duggan, Macho Man, Bushwhackers.....they were all there in the glory days!!! You only get a golden age once, and WWF/WWE's golden days are long behind now.

Finish: Let's not forget that while WWF Superstars Of Wrestling and Wrestling Challenge were mainly showcase shows to get over mid-carders and tag-teams and to further major story lines, they had their share of major main event matches as well. The IC title and tag titles frequently changed hands on those shows. Ric Flair even won the WWF title on Superstars which was a first. I think once major stars wrestled each other on the regular, that is what killed it.

I know it is not coming back to Atlantic City, but A.C has something no other city that has hosted Wrestlemaina has; to host back to back Wrestlemainas (Wrestlemaina IV &V)

@rurouni82 : The Monday Night War ruined ppvs. Bischoff and McMahon were constantly trying to out do each other by upping the ante on the number of PPVS per years. Nowadays it seems like there is a PPV every other weekend. PPVs don't mean anything, titles don't mean anything, feuds don't mean anything, pretty much WWE doesn't mean anything anymore.

@D2Kprime Well actually the ppvs were already messed up before then. The main factor I think is when McMahon started getting his main talents to wrestle every program. Before guys like Hogan, Warrior, Flair, etc all would only wrestle on ppvs. They would make appearences on programs to build up whatever story, but never wrestle(well once in great while). And because there weren't many ppvs they had months to build the hype for a story.

@rurouni82 : I agree, but I was fine with the PPV count before the Monday Night Wars started. The WWf had Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, KOTR, Summerslam, and Survivior Series. WCW had Superbrawl, Slamboree, GAB, Fall Brawl, Halloween Havoc, and Starrcade. You mentioned having the main wrestlers appear on every show was detrimental. It wasn't so much of them wrestling, but having them wrestle EACH OTHER that was the problem and that is what Monday Night Raw and WCW Monday Nitro did.

Cont: This effectively killed off any real use for 'Saturday Night's Main Event', or weekend shows Like 'Superstars' or 'Wrestling Challenge.' Likewise it killed of WCW shows like 'WCW Saturday Night' and 'Clash Of The Champions.' WCW had a good balance going on WCW Saturday Night to which the picked and chose the RIGHT wrestlers for that show. You might see a match like 'Hot Stuff' Eddie Gilbert VS. Dick Murdoch, but you wouldn't see Ric Flair VS. Sting unless it was a special attraction.

There is not time to get excited about a card, as soon as one is over you are weeks away from the next.
