  • Yes that drum intro is sweet!

  • So much talent, truly blessed artists!!

  • Gave me goosebumps prolly the best live version of this song and you could tell Dave was getting moved by the music he started to like go crazy ad jump and shit haha. So good

  • i love carter and dave at 5:40

  • Hello, we're Sludge. We're a new upcoming band hell-bent on bringing rock back! Our channel is Sludge9509. check us out, you WONT be dissapointed.

  • what is that thing that dave has in his guitar @0:37

  • @dsiphor98 It's a feedback supressor. It's pretty much a plug that covers the soundhole on the guitar for when you're using it on stage etc so that sound from monitors can't get to the pickup mic inside the guitar which would cause feedback.

  • I'm not a fan of over embellished drummers, but Carter's style remains relevant to the music and maintains groove..........definitely my favorite drummer

  • Living Legends! nuff said

  • This is undescribable epicness.

  • it looks harder then it seems @shawnmartin...trust me

  • I love the chemistry between Dave and Carter. Dave's always impressed!

  • wow, carter threw everybody off except steffan dave n boyd lol

  • lol this is a true story about dave and his wife. they were coming back from some sort of trip and dave went first in a differnt car then his wife. he was hit on the passenger side of his car and if his wife would have been in the car with him she would have died. hence "so damn lucky"

  • @michaelfeldman91 never heard this one before

  • go ahead tim

  • I don't care what the song's about, it's fucking awesome! It makes me feel really happy :), especially the awesome guitar part by Tim Reynolds.

I have been listening to it non-stop for the past 4 days and while doing so, I came up with a really neat choreography :D.

  • FUCKING BEAUTIFUL

  • that's obvious.. but did she survive?

  • At 0:43 Dave looks back at Carter as if to say "You are one funky badass drummer dude". It's clear that Dave feels blessed to play with such great musicians.

...oh and Carter IS a funky badass drummer!!!

  • does anyone know what this songs about?

  • I saw an interview with Dave and he said it's about being thankful. He went on to say it's like the seconds before you fall and know that you can't stop it.Just a enough time to wonder how the damage your going to take.

  • hah you heard that explanation from Radio city didnt you

  • hes right.

  • I believe it's about a car accident he had with his wife.

  • yeah thats what i was thinking

  • im pretty sure its about lerois atv accident... could be wrong but thats what i heard

  • dude this song was written for so damn lucky which was back in 2002

  • not so damn lucky the album was some devil

  • no its not. it was off his solo album that was released in 2003.

  • @mrhornets41 I don't know much about DMB, who is leeroy? What happened to him? Also what are all these things I keep hearing about Dave smoking weed?

  • the song is much older than that. it is applicable tho

  • @mrhornets41 On the Radio City DVD Dave says that this song is about that little period of time before you fall or something bad happens where you reflect how yout got there and what will happen next

  • @mrhornets41 you are very wrong this song was on some devil his solo album. dave wrote it long befor he passed away

  • @mrhornets41 except this song was released in 2003 and leroi's accident was in 2008..

  • possibly a car crash

  • falling in love and getting ur heart broken all in one song.. ya?

  • best version of this song hand down!!! the boys were in the zone tonight!!!

  • tim looks so cool in this vid, like any old school rocker. and CARTER, damn need I say more?

  • Lol that's cuz Carter came into the song on a very off beat and corrected it very smoothly.

  • carter's ridiculous

  • wow.... first there was Seek Up at Red Rocks... the Bartender at Folsom Field... Now this... the EPIC songs never cease to amaze me.

  • Tim looks like a muppet. They should make a muppet on Sesame Street who plays a wicked guitar.

  • ????????

  • This group never ceases to amaze me. Just when you think they couldn't play a song any more beautifully, they give it a twist and make it even more awesome.

  • Carter Beauford on the drums!!!!

  • if anyone wasn't sure... carter is the SHIT.. .this song is so hard

  • and while i am on the subject of dave being amazed by his own band..I wouldn't limit it to just what Carter can do..I think he does it when the Great leroi would do something and so on so forth..and of course when Timmy is Jammin...and he was obviously loving the outro on this night , but i don't blame him..the first time they did this song last year and i hear it like this..i was all smiles myself..) forgive me I just like to talk about DMB...and it would seem i find myself in good conpany here

  • I hear ya, man. I loved in their Road to Big Whisky documentary when they were all saying such nice things about eachother. I think these guys were meant to play together.

  • You couldn't have said it any better. The first time I heard the outro to this, I literally almost cried. It was the most beautiful thing I've ever heard.

  • i was in lucca, italy last sunday and they played the song with the same outro..... just great, fantastic and unbelievable! still can't believe it that i saw them...

  • I love that even though they all know what carter is capable of, when he pulls out that insane drum intro, dave is so surprised/happy about it and has to turn around.

  • i know haha my favorite part of the vid is when he turns around

  • I agree..i watch them do that stuff alot..anytime he does something a touch different from even the night before..lol.. you can see dave or Stefan..and even when Butch was there...they have the same reaction i have ..like wow did he just do that! kudos my freind

  • @brownlo1

    ...It's so true.

  • def. mini. listen to tim's solo shit like betrayal or stream on acoustic. before you EVER call him out like that. especially comparing him to metal musicians????

  • there wouldnt be good music without DMB :)

  • the.

    outro.

  • i disagree tim can do no wrong!

  • yeah their not a metal band

    turn tim way down

i love the stuff hes doing but in moderation

  • how the fuck does carter do that... if you want specifics youre shit outta luck, how the fuck does carter do EVERYTHING he does?

  • Damn, that drum intro was orgasmic! Carter is the man!

  • good call. you cant beat daves chord progression in this song. i try ta listen to this song everyday

it always reminds me not too be a jackass when i drive an to fucking love everyone

  • lmao dave at 46

carter usually doesn't come in there, that was pretty fuckin nice

  • i agree. i think tim should be turned down quite a bit. i like daves guitar =)

  • turn tim way down. not liking the chicken pickin, rather hear those nice acoustic strings

  • tims picking in the verse is the best part man!

  • Dave looks excited after he looked back carter

  • he's so stoked about carter's f**king amazing drum intro and how sick it sounds.

  • It was quite clearly intentional.

  • carter can do what he wants

  • no shit

  • whoa man carter is just sick

  • hes always sick

i can never can get enough of it,

especially when dave screams he lungs out on top of it, incredible

  • this is incredible.. dave really swung for the fences in the outro and blew my mind

  • this song is just so amazing. amazing amazing amazing.

    probably the best outro ever.

  • what does he sing ( scream ) at the end of the song??? by the way the most beautiful ever....but i wanna know what he screams....thanks

  • Comment removed

  • he screams, its amazing what a minute can do

    what a minute can do

    can do

  • yes that intro is amazing. i love when dave looks back and smiles at carter. he is just as amazed as all of us by some of the shit that God does behind that kit.

  • Amazing! I don't know where you people get "Carter came in early" from, because that was absolutely amazing. It's called artistic license! He is a genius behind that kit. One of the greatest drummers in the world for sure!

  • Carter is insane!!!!

  • tahts not teh point man, you dont needa the same thing as in the studio version, hes just lovin the music man. and it sounded good too.

  • if he came in early it doesnt mater cause he sounded amazing.....and dave was just lovin it

  • He did come in early, but who cares, this song is FUCKING brilliant

  • The drums come in whenever Carter wants the drums to come in. Carter has the freedom to do whatever he wants whenever he wants that's why this band would be any drummer's dream to play in.

  • The way that Carter comes in at the beginning there is one of my favourite things that he's ever done.

  • Hes just lovin it at the beginning.

    And carter is a beast!

  • hell yea Carter!

  • like yea Carter your sick says Dave!

  • good version...live @ rothbury may be better.

  • cant wait till the cd comes out. the new outro is incredible. and yeah, Dave's like "this is badass!"

  • This is the best So damn Lucky..The outro is intense!

  • This is so great full band

  • I love how dave just has to turn to carter after the first line and was like "hell yea!"

  • Best So Damn Lucky I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing!!
