I saw a cat that I thought had been hit by a car. When I pulled over to check, he hopped right in my car and started purring. So I took him home, got him neutered and named him Hobo. After treating him for fleas, ear mights - followed by a yeast infection in the ear, and bad gingivitis the vet tells us he has FIV... Hobo is only aone year and full of personality. I've only had him 2 months but he is one of the family. What can I do to give him the best shot at life??
I have had a FeLV cat for about a year now, and he is FAT, happy, lively, and alas, isolated in a bedroom due to his FeLV status. He has his own TV , (with Animal Planet playing all day)lots of love-time from me, and shows no sign of illness. Should I have him re-tested, and if he is ok..can he mingle with my FeLV-free cats?
@MissPickletoes I have A felk and have had two others in the past. They have all been around other Felk free cats Including a very ederly one and kittens the most likely to catch it and its never passed. Its most likely to only pass based on my experience and my friends who have rescues its mostly spread from roaming males who get into severe fights or mom to baby. You should according to me and my friends test them over after atlest six months as they can fight it off.
