what do u all expect ? this card is more than 2 years old. this card was meant for watching hd movies, low end gaming but this card can run every single game (except the games which were released this november) on at least 20 - 70 fps or more. it runs world of warcraft at 200 fps. it runs bad company 2 at 50 fps. what more do u except from a card like this? it aint a gtx 580 or 590. it costs $30(less than an average game). stop calling this a thrash. u didnt buy it for $1000.

Using the older Intel graphics? Older one were horrible at least the newer ones can actually play it.
The GT 240 is more or less the minimum card I'd say someone should put into their system to play games with, forget the 9400GT and 9500GT, you can't complain about the price for the GT 240 can you? There's a faster one for more like $98. And there's the 5670 which is aimed to knock down the GT 240 basically. Whatever works. Sub $100 cards are getting good.
Don't bother, for $77 you can get a card that's three times as powerful and can do MW2 great. They basically didn't bother to benchmark the 9400GT with MW2 but it can play it at maybe normal settings and 1280x1024. The card for $77 can play it at high settings and 1920x1080.

Unless your playing racing games of the 6-8 year old vintage which are still considered the best to date like GTR2, richard burns rally, NASCAR 2003, GPL etc..........this card is downright overkill for those games even at max setting since they were designed to run on only 64mb

I have this card, and I play games with it... No it wont play Crysis on MAX, but it will play it on mid to low.
Also, I can play PREY on MAX, with 30+ fps. I have a huge list of online games I play with this card FINE.
If you're somoene who plays alot of free MMORPGs like silkroad online, or Florensia online, this card will play those games on max, with awsome framerate.

A 9400GT with 1GB will do just as well as a normal 9400GT with 512MB will do, it doesn't have enough power to really make use of the extra memory. 9500GT on the other hand has twice as much graphics power, with DDR3 it has good bandwidth. Still should get something better than the 9500GT though.

Yeah, you're right, at some lower settings, you can run basically whatever you want on the 9400gt. I wasn't saying it couldn't run games, but you could play some games.
Still, getting something with some more power would be good if you want to do serious gaming at high settings and resolutions.
But this card is $10, after a special deal.
But someone should get a 9800 gt or something if they want to do serious gaming. Just about $80 now.
sprakle 9500 is teh bomb i can play every game i have on super hight setings and it does over heat aand its very silent i only got in for 50 =) i have l4d ,cod 4 and there are more games like fallout 3 and stuff like that

you cant play any modern games on entry level graphic cards so try to get at least a mid range series graphic card like 9500GT.
but I recommend to wait and buy a new DirectX 11 card if you intend to buy a new graphic card soon.
or you can also buy ATI Radeon 5000 Series cards because they are already supported with DirectX 11 but non of are sold under 100US$ i guess so you should wait till the mid range series cards come.

i overclocked it to core 767 mhz ,shader 1880,mem clock to 495.....stock cooling at 100% fan speed.......no issues...
i could run crysis at 1024 x768 at all gamer settings and aa 2x.with constant 30fps and so highly playable......very good card for 45$

Unless your playing racing games of the 6-8 year old vintage which are still considered the best to date like GTR2, richard burns rally, NASCAR 2003, GPL etc..........this card is downright overkill for those games even at max setting since they were designed to run on only 64mb

I bought this card for my budget gaming pc ($50 on newegg with free shipping, now $40 with free shipping). If you look around on youtube, this card works pretty well for what it is. I plan on upgrading more when I have more cash to blow, but I don't think you will be disappointed

i bought this from tigerdirect(DOT)ca except my graphics card has metal instead of that black thing that looks like plastic lol i know its not but first look it does just a bit. the card cost like 40 - 60$ CAN and as long as its better than my nForce 8600GS Onboard graphics i dont care if it doesnt play L4D on max.
my 9400GT gave win7 score of 5.2 on win7 Aero and 6.2 on Gaming Graphics
when the onboard gave me 3.2 win7 Aero and 3.6 on Gaming Graphics.
it ran crysis 4 - 6 fps on performance LOL!

I play The Sims 2 with the 1 GB RAM version. It is a definite improvement over the 6200SE w/ Turbocache and 256MB of RAM. I don't play the latest games that are out partly because my computer is almost four years old and I use it for purposes other than gaming.

You can get a GTS 250 for $140 at Frys.
That's a 1 GB version and it's overclocked.
That's a seriously powerful card that will destroy almost any game.
Literally about 10x as powerful as this card.
Though even a 9800gt which is $80 after rebate could handle L4D2 and MW2.

no, it isnt, to play games, its pretty bad, you can play any games at med setting, with a bad framerate, or you can get a great framerate, with the lowest settings. get a newer better card, the 4870 from ati should be around that price point right now, although i got a gtx 275 superclocked for around 260 bucks,, its a beast, save up some more, dont buy this crap

I have this card, and I play games with it... No it wont play Crysis on MAX, but it will play it on mid to low.
Also, I can play PREY on MAX, with 30+ fps. I have a huge list of online games I play with this card FINE.
If you're somoene who plays alot of free MMORPGs like silkroad online, or Florensia online, this card will play those games on max, with awsome framerate.

A 9400GT with 1GB will do just as well as a normal 9400GT with 512MB will do, it doesn't have enough power to really make use of the extra memory. 9500GT on the other hand has twice as much graphics power, with DDR3 it has good bandwidth. Still should get something better than the 9500GT though.

For gaming hands down 4670, for home theatre PC this is a compact, quiet, low power, and probably about $35 or $40 graphics card.
Still, at lower resolutions you can play some games on the 9400gt.
For gaming a 9800gt or better would be good, it's cheap now too.

Looks like at 1920x1200, and highest settings, the 9800gt will do about 35 FPS on COD: WAW, and the 4670 will do 20 FPS.
9400gt will go under 10 FPS.

Yeah, you're right, at some lower settings, you can run basically whatever you want on the 9400gt. I wasn't saying it couldn't run games, but you could play some games.
Still, getting something with some more power would be good if you want to do serious gaming at high settings and resolutions.
But this card is $10, after a special deal.
But someone should get a 9800 gt or something if they want to do serious gaming. Just about $80 now.

NO.!! 9400GT is in Entry level series
you cant play any modern games on entry level graphic cards so try to get at least a mid range series graphic card like 9500GT.
but I recommend to wait and buy a new DirectX 11 card if you intend to buy a new graphic card soon.
or you can also buy ATI Radeon 5000 Series cards because they are already supported with DirectX 11 but non of are sold under 100US$ i guess so you should wait till the mid range series cards come.
