If you didn't have anything to cook at the time you could focus it on a thick piece of metal or a rock and that would act like a heat battery. 2" plate steel takes a while to cool off. You could also use an anvil or even the steel from old non-electric irons.
@scodurh Good question.The charcoal should be pulverized to maximize the surface area and is active. It is not as good as commercial activated carbon but will work. Only use hardwood for charcoal. I do not have the ability to manufacture commercially activated carbon. Charcoal has been used for centuries to remove nasties from water. I will be doing a better video on the the filtering.
