  • This is awesome. Phonetic if you know the alphebet. some words have the translation with it..Logos like Mc Donalds you should see easilly. Captilist America! ha

  • Hey, I recognise some of these - The CoD Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer map 'Derail' uses these shop signs on the eastern edge of the map. There's the restaurant sign at 1:02, the Eliseevski sign at 1:21, The zpekmromovari sign at 1:49, and a gas station called 'Nova' like at 1:54. The same fonts and formatting are used as well.

A coincidence? This video was uploaded a good two years before MW2 was released, right during the time the game was being programmed. Did Infinity Ward watch this video?

  • what's that zlekmromovareu? :D

  • @KristiantoGeorge Электротовары, "Electrical household appliances". The "T" letter design imitates cursive form.

  • You should interpret, with text at bottom!

  • its a toilet in the first one

  • What is the 4th letter in the first picture? A?

  • @enoiclaf60

    its the "L" sound

  • красная площадь is "red square" so that might be hard if you just know the alphabet.

  • That was fun. Beginning student but interpreted

    many of them.

  • It's a 'Б' with artistic font tail on the top line.

  • what is 33

  • 'barbi', than 'volvo'

  • Hey, I thought this was very clever, and helpful. I'm learning Russian on my own. I now know the alphabets, numbers, and some phrases. And it's only my 2nd day! Thanks man, this helped alot! The best to ya!

  • i am trying hard to learn russian. proves to be quite tough so far. anyone want to teach me ? lolol

  • I can

  • 1.51: "ЭЛЕКТРОТОВАРЫ" m=т, the first letter is "Э", the second one is "Л"

  • very good))) There is a music video on my profile with russian subtitles for learning of russian words...it might be helpful.

  • I can't speak any Russian but in some weird way I always could read these letters.

What does 'Krasnaya' mean? Cause I don't know any similar word in English. Or am I not reading it right?

Anyway thanks very much for this!

  • Krasnaya (from красный) means red colour. Also it can mean beautiful but not in modern language.

  • But I meant KPACHAЯ (at 6 seconds) not красный.

    Or is that the same?

And if it means 'red colour', does the sign at 6 seconds mean 'red square'?

  • "красная" (krasnaya) is just a form of the 'main' word "красный" (krasny).

Yes, you are right. "Красная площадь" (krasnaya ploschad) = "Red square". =)

  • работать : To work

    Я работаю : I work

    Ты работаешь: You work

    Он/ Она/ Оно работает: He/ She/ It works.

    Мы работаем: We work

    Вы работаете: You work.

    Они работают: They work.

Please, teach how to read this

  • Who sings this song. I dont understand it but I love the beat. OLEY...OLEY...!!! Thanks for Posting

  • lol super nova

  • I very much enjoyed this video. i could practice my reading because you cannot do that in a very real way when your 1st language is english. Thanks for posting! You should make another one!

  • а че в России теперь все на Анлийском?

  • really good one! :) thank you for posting this video - a real-life exercise to check if I can really read something in Russian - I could't figure out just some of the signs but most of them were solvable ;) mc chicken :D

  • haha! great! i read a lot of them and didnt even realize they were english!

  • CASINO!! I can't belive I read that word!

  • the upside down V is L

  • This letter is "L".

  • Thanks for the video. Cool music too.

  • what is the song in this video?

  • It is funny to see how many words in Russian come from English or even the Latin languages. For instance, "музыка" and "интрига" are pronounced exactly the same way in Russian and in Brazilian. Two languages with very similar sonority.

  • What is it at 01:22, Yelisyeyevskii, and at 01:28, and at 01:51, and what is the "reverse V" (like the fist letter at 01:59) ? (sry to disturb you lad :D)

  • 1.28: Telegraf,

1.51: I believe the first letter is a Z, isn't it? Does it spell Zpekmromovary?

    Eliseevskii's a restaurant.
