This is awesome. Phonetic if you know the alphebet. some words have the translation with it..Logos like Mc Donalds you should see easilly. Captilist America! ha
Hey, I recognise some of these - The CoD Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer map 'Derail' uses these shop signs on the eastern edge of the map. There's the restaurant sign at 1:02, the Eliseevski sign at 1:21, The zpekmromovari sign at 1:49, and a gas station called 'Nova' like at 1:54. The same fonts and formatting are used as well.
A coincidence? This video was uploaded a good two years before MW2 was released, right during the time the game was being programmed. Did Infinity Ward watch this video?
Hey, I thought this was very clever, and helpful. I'm learning Russian on my own. I now know the alphabets, numbers, and some phrases. And it's only my 2nd day! Thanks man, this helped alot! The best to ya!
I very much enjoyed this video. i could practice my reading because you cannot do that in a very real way when your 1st language is english. Thanks for posting! You should make another one!
really good one! :) thank you for posting this video - a real-life exercise to check if I can really read something in Russian - I could't figure out just some of the signs but most of them were solvable ;) mc chicken :D
It is funny to see how many words in Russian come from English or even the Latin languages. For instance, "музыка" and "интрига" are pronounced exactly the same way in Russian and in Brazilian. Two languages with very similar sonority.
What is it at 01:22, Yelisyeyevskii, and at 01:28, and at 01:51, and what is the "reverse V" (like the fist letter at 01:59) ? (sry to disturb you lad :D)

I can't speak any Russian but in some weird way I always could read these letters.
What does 'Krasnaya' mean? Cause I don't know any similar word in English. Or am I not reading it right?
Anyway thanks very much for this!
originalkj 3 years ago
Krasnaya (from красный) means red colour. Also it can mean beautiful but not in modern language.
Fogeiner 3 years ago
But I meant KPACHAЯ (at 6 seconds) not красный.
Or is that the same?
And if it means 'red colour', does the sign at 6 seconds mean 'red square'?
originalkj 3 years ago
"красная" (krasnaya) is just a form of the 'main' word "красный" (krasny).
Yes, you are right. "Красная площадь" (krasnaya ploschad) = "Red square". =)
Fogeiner 3 years ago
работать : To work
Я работаю : I work
Ты работаешь: You work
Он/ Она/ Оно работает: He/ She/ It works.
Мы работаем: We work
Вы работаете: You work.
Они работают: They work.
Please, teach how to read this
