The Berillo Cartel cut them out so he'd stay out their path. He did shoot a couple people down just orienting by 'hearing' movement vectors of his adversaries... Loved his puppet-fake-arm... Oh, there's a track on the movie's soundtrack called 'The Man with no Eyes', referring to his eyes been pulverized. Tragic but totally Roberto Rodriguez' style
