Anyone who is trying to solve the cube for the first time, I can only really offer this advice: the cross is the hardest part to get at first BY FAR. If you can think of the cross as moving pieces around rather than stickers, you'll get it soon enough. Just take your time and stretch your brain.

Hell, my cross could be much better and I average like 24 seconds. I think badmephisto has a beginners cross video. If you absolutely can't get this, go check it out.

i remember learning this, only i did it with petrus, where the entire thing is intuitive (basically)

a tip i can give to the people that are using this to learn to solve their cubes for the first time: wait until 1 step is fully explained before twisting your cube at all. because whille youre looking at your cube, stuff is being explained

Anyway, this version of the beginner's method is BETTER for getting someone into the fridrich method, and it's confusing to go from Dan Brown's version of the beginner's method to this one without a crap load of practice. It took me a day or two to figure this version out, and that was after a few months of practice.

For anyone searching for a method that will get them fast times, this is probably the best. I learned how to solve the Rubik's cube using the Dan Brown method, though I have to say that this one is much closer to the Jessica Fridrich method, which is the fastest method in general, and the basis for most advanced methods.

still struggling to understand why no-one has covered the way that the 2 matching colored blocks under the cross get there. no-one in any video seems to meantion it. they just say. "if u do it correctly". without mentioning how to get it there

It's completely intuitive. You have to match up the edge pieces to the corresponding center pieces. For instance, if you are building the cross, and the edge piece you need is the blue and orange one, you need to line up the orange with the orange center piece.

Well, for me, I learned the basics of how to solve it from him. 'How to solve' and speed cubing are two different things pal. So, then I began to discover faster ways to solve it, which is faster. But not as fast as, like the Petrus method, or Fredrich.

Someone needs to make a good tutorial for those methods cause it WAS confusing to me.

Dan Brown's tutorials, while ok, teach the SLOWEST method EVER for the cube. His 4x4x4 method is even worse because it runs you into 2 more parity errors than any other method.

What people posting Rubik's cube tutorials don't seem to realize is that they may scramble their cube but their colour configuration is going to be different to the people following. So of course the results are bound to be different.

my way is easier to remember i am going to post my 'how to' vid soon. it is a lot easier to me but because i just got my cube 2 days agoe i am not good and can't get faster than 3 minutes. lol. srry about not being fast but with practice on my way you can solve it in like 20 seconds. I tried my first cube yesterday, I was following a guide and it differs from how you have done it here. To get the first layer done I had trouble getting everything to match up, but having watched this now it makes sense as to why I kept messing up.

two possible answers for that: ur making a mistake doing the first side. meaning, ur not matching up the centers properly. OR, somebody scrambled the stickers on ur cube at some point
