You know, Duckman is a prime example of quality television writing. There are moments like this that are insanely whacky, but then it can do a complete 360 and be extremely insightful and make you feel for a foul-mouthed, chain-smoking, anthropomorphic talking duck. It take a quality team of writers to do that.

And where are we now? Family Guy? Seth McFarlen couldn't make me feel bad for Peter Griffen if he tried.

No, because it over abuses randomness, akward silences, loooong jokes about explanations, unrelated 80's pop culture references and exagerates characters to the point of being annoying. And just like Peter Griffin said about the Godfather trilogy "It insists upon itself" so does Family guy. Every character in the show degenerated in an unfunny and vulgar parody of itself.

And that is why Seth MacFarlane can go die in a fire.
