  • What about using these types of fittings for natural gas work with copper tubing? Also, have you tried or can you advise on the use of copper bond epoxy products - same application for gas piping?

  • @lucidcryotank1 Hello;

    I would NOT recommend these fittings for any type of gas installation or repair. There are codes that MUST be fallowed very closely on all types of gas piping and reapirs. As far as epoxy products for natural gas that would also be a NO. As far as I am concerned I do NOT recommend anyone to do any type of gas installation or repair themselves. Call an expert on those types of projects. It is well worth the money!

    Thanks for commenting and enjoy your day!!! Al

  • cool!!!

  • @rrsd69 Hello there;

    This is a few of the products that can join copper without soldering. Not everyone has the equipment or time to do it and if water in the pipe is an issue then these products can be used without any trouble.

  • @rrsd69 Hey there;

    Glad you liked it. If people are nervous about using the torch; this is one way to get around it and these fittings do work well.

  • Iis the compression coupling just as adequate as the sharkbite

  • @stewdart Hello;

    Compression couplings have been around for a very long time. Most valves in everyone's home under there countertop and behind the toilet are the compression style valve if they have copper pipe for waterlines and they last for many years as we all know.

    Sharkbites have not been around here very long, but an excellent product from what I see..

    I will be honest with you I ,personally, would have no trouble using either.

    Thanks for you comments and enjoy 2012! Al

  • Most informative:Thank you.

  • @Squarerig Hello there;

    Technology is making life a whole lot easier for sure with all the new fittings and tools.

    Glad you liked it!

  • Great video! I just learned bout them not long go but the SharkBite system saved my ass twice now. Though do cost $5.00-$11.00 each they are worth it for a quik fix or when options are low. I been looking into earth homes made of clay, straw, papercrete ect. and see that these fittings along with PEX tubing are becoming the norm in alternative building. Thanks for the video!

  • @BrokenRRT Hello there;

    They are a little on the expensive side, but work very well. These are ideal for a quick fix for sure.Time will tell on how long they will last, but so far they have definitely iimpressed me.

  • Wow 35 bucks for a depth tool? I use my tape measure before ill get one of those lol great video though! Sharkbite or Gatorbite, yeah they run a pretty penny but well worth it if you cant get a crimping tool in tight spots =D

  • @chaotic719playa Thanks for the comments.I am not a fan of using them undergroud,but for a quick fix they are the cats tush.Before they came out with this system;they had acorn fittings.I never used them,but some people said the were amazing.Not my cup of tea as I like making a premanent joint on all waterlines,but they come in handy and most people can install them.I even heard of one person doing their enitre house with them. $700 for the fittings and used plastic pipe.Have a good one...Al
